Spiritual Love

S piritual love is of the highest nature, the love of an individual for the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master. He is the manifestation of God’s love. Another name for divine love is the ECK, Holy Spirit. It is rightfully called the Voice of God, too, for It speaks to our spiritual Self. Still another name for the ECK is the Music of God. It, along with the Divine Light, is central to one’s spiritual life. The holy book of Eckankar, The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad, Book One, tells how the ECK Sound Current is often weak at first. However, the Master gives a student unique methods to begin opening the Spiritual Eye. As it opens, the Sound becomes ever clearer, more distinct, more compelling, a magnet of love. This divine music then begins to draw Soul higher. The journey home to God may now proceed in earnest. The special methods the Master gives to a lover of God are the Spiritual Exercises of ECK. Many, many are available in the outer works of Eckankar. Moreover, the Master will also pass along others in the dream state or contemplation. The latter match one’s state of consciousness. The experiences that accrue from them are, like the outer exercises, designed to refine one spiritually. Giving love must necessarily begin at home. The Dream Basket state, imagine meeting the Inner Master in your home or office. He holds out a wastebasket. “Take your cares and worries, and put them in here,” he tells you. Visualize taking all the things that are bothering you and putting them into the Master’s basket. Feel rested and relaxed as you release them into the hands of the ECK. If something is unpleasant in your life, change it. You are the creator of your worlds, whether they are on the inner planes or out here. The Inner Master will try to show you how to make your life out here better. By turning a situation over to the Inner Master, something is worked off, and out of it can come more harmony and balance.
