The Meeting
Man sat behind a desk, sharply dressed with an aspect of lack of
formality, e.g:
suit with top button of shirt undone, slightly creased, messy
hair. Stressed and
irritated, playing with items on the desk: including pictures of
people; withoutthem knowing, rough writing on pieces of paper,
writing on tape. Looking at
phone from time to time.
Silent Background, the man is seated, looking inpatient.
Wide establishing shot, Boss in the centre of the shot.
Phone lights up and rings on the table.
Sound of the phone vibrating against the desk.
Extreme close-up of the phone with the contact showing.
Left to ring for 1 or 2 times. Answers.
Boss
Yes, well you better hurry.
Shot changes to a medium shot in front of the desk, watching the
boss as he
has his conversation.
Time elapses, short time whilst the boss is waiting for a reply
from the other
end of the phone.
Boss
So? I dont care, no more excuses just get here.
Bang from outside the door, someone is struggling to get it, no
reaction from
boss. He knows whos coming in. Camera changes to a view outside
of the
room, above the two mobsters that are about to come in, making
them look
weak in comparison with the boss, as they open the door the
camera switches
again to them walking in, again above them making them look
weak. Two men
struggle in, the first being pushed by the other man.
Camera pulls round so that the three are all in shot, medium
shot to give a
wide view of the room, one of the men sits down, and the boss
stands to
present his anger.

We came as soon as we could boss, T ain all the driver he said
he was. Yah
see-
Boss interrupts:
Boss
- I dont care! You were chased by the police? No. no you werent.
Useless,
you just cant drive.
T
Well I, I can-
Boss
I dont accept liabilities, its not like I have all the time in
the world, I want
things done, and done well and if you dont deliver.
Slowly delivered lines, reinforces the words said and the
emotions of the boss.
Camera cuts to the pistol on the desk. Close-up.
Boss
Im sure you understand.
Camera behind the chair to see the action and identity of the
boss, but to hide
that of the individual he is pushing into the seat.
Stands up, slowly steps around desk, and slowly pushes Guy 2
into his seat.
Camera now sits over the shoulder of the man who has just been
pushed into
his seat, feels like you are the mobster being forced around and
you have to sitand listen to the boss.
Boss
I want to expand the business (hand signals large). People need
to know my
name in this city. People need to -deep breath out- fear me.
Camera swaps to over the boss shoulder (shot reverse shot)
whilst T is
speaking.
