Dear Senior Parents,

Greetings! We hope the early fall has been a great time with your senior and are sure you are already anticipating the many big events coming up for your student this year. It is a year filled with memories and fun. The staff of the 2019-20 edition of the LHS Yearbook invites you to place a dedication to your senior in the advertising section of the book. Traditionally known as the “baby ads” or “Grad Ads”, these dedications include a photos of your choice along with words of encouragement and congratulations for your senior. Dedications are available in two sizes. Several examples from the past are included with this information to help you visualize what your ad might look like. You provide the words and the photo(s), and we do all the rest. Content is subject to administrative approval, and there is a limit to the number of words based upon the size of the ad you purchase. All ads are in full color; however, we can upload a black and white or sepia toned photo if you choose that effect in a photo you submit.. Students may have more than one ad placed in their honor. For example, past dedications have been submitted by siblings and grandparents in addition to parents wanting to honor a senior.

There are three ways you can accomplish ordering a baby/grad ad:1. Hand-delivered - all paper method: Fill out the attached ad order form and return it to the school. You can mail it in or drop it off at the office. Mark it, “Attention: Mrs. Staude”. With the form, include your payment and the photo(s) you want included. Your photo will not leave LHS. We will scan it and return it to you when we deliver the yearbook. If you wish the photo to be returned sooner via mail, enclose a stamped, self-addressed appropriately sized envelope with the photo.

2. Digital / Half paper Method: We are also able to accept digital photo fi les in JPEG format only. You may submit them via email to cstaude@lhssc.org. If you are doing your own scanning, please set your scanner to a high quality resolution of at least 200 dpi.or higher. Then send in your check and form in an envelope marked “Attention: Mrs. Staude.”

3. Almost-all digital method - copy and paste the completed form into an email and send it with your jpeg photo attached. We will watch for your check to be hand or snail-mail delivered to the office or room 101 marked “Attention Mrs. Staude”

ALL CHECKS should be made payable to LHS. No ad space is considered final until payment is made.

Dedication space is sold on a first come/first served basis. To guarantee a space for your ad, we need your dedication by January 31st, 2020. After that date, we may still be able to accept a late ad, but we cannot guarantee available space as we have a set number of pages set aside for ads in the book. You are encouraged to respond early.

You can also order your senior’s yearbook at this time if you wish. We are working with TreeRing again this year and ALL yearbooks are to be ordered via their online site. The company’s link is www.treering.com and I have included a copy of the flier handed out on parent night with information about how to order. With a yearbook purchase each student is given 2 pages in their own book to customize with their own personal content. This is a great place to put those team, club and friend photos that mean a lot to your student. Additional customizable pages can be added beyond the 2 free ones for a small fee of 99¢ for each 2 extra pages.

Finally, we hope your senior has completed their senior portrait sitting. You can CHOOSE the photographer/studio you wish to use. Simply ask that photographer to send the proof jpg of the headshot you choose to cstaude@lhssc.org. If your student has NOT done this by now and you need photographer information, an info page of photographers who have recently worked with our students is included in the attachments to this letter. We hope to have as many portraits as possible submitted by Christmas Vacation, but will accept them as long as we have not gone to press. Please try to get this done ASAP.

WHAT TO ASK FOR FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER: A full-color headshot pose (indoors or outside is fine) Avoid full length or half body poses. Also avoid “props”-such as pets, sports equip, musical instruments etc. - to keep the headshot uncluttered. A high resolution (300dpi) photo .jpg for up to a 4x6 size print quality.
