JOB POSTING (hellipAND EXPLANATION)
Lake Orion United Methodist Church seeks a part-time Family Ministry Associate Director for our ministries to children and students from birth through 12th grade and their families The position requires strong administrative skills a passion for relating with and serving families and good technical skills (media) with a desire to learn Must possess an open and inclusive spiritualty Resumes may be submitted to larrywiklakeorionumcorg
When the above posting went out last month there was some initial confusion from some in the congregation So we wanted to make sure that all our LOUMC family understands what is going on
For some time we have known that Donna Waite our full-time Childrenrsquos Ministries Director was going to be retiring come February of 2016 We have been strategizing ever since as to how to address our programming and staffing needs going forward The decision was made to alter Aaron Grossrsquos position from Youth Director to Family Ministries Director giving him primary oversight over both youth and childrenrsquos ministries and then to hire a Family Ministry Associate Director who will be part-time to work alongside him
Aaron will still be hands on with the Youth program and the Associate Director will have more hands on responsibility with children ministries but overall the programs will be more unified in terms of leadership and philosophy Donna has been working with Aaron already to implement some of the shifts in programming beginning this Fall
We would encourage you if you have any interest in the position to submit a resume to or at least have a conversation with Pastor Larry Any further questions can also be directed to Pastor Larry

curriculum this year that offers some new and exciting ways to engage the children in learning about Godly living as seen in the Bible and
experienced in our daily lives Every month there is a new theme and the one for September is ldquoDirty Jobs Somebodyrsquos Gotta Do lsquoEmrdquo We will be exploring the importance of taking initiative when something needs to be done and doing it We will use the Bible story about Nehemiah rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem to help us discover that God will empower us for tasks both big and small
Some special instructions for both 915 and 1100 Kids on the Rock Children will be going directly to their classrooms when they arrive rather than going into worship as they did this summer Parents please plan to arrive early that first Sunday There will be greeters at the doors and maps to help you find your child(ren)rsquos classrooms After walking with your children to their rooms please go to Fellowship Hall to register ALL children from birth to 5
