A Bookworm’s View
So many
books …
so little
time.
Historical events combined with adventure and mystery are all
elements artfully described by Jeffrey Archer in his new novel,
“Only Time Will Tell.” Five year old Harry Clifton’s father dies in
an unspeakable shipyard accident for which only one person is
ultimately responsible. This is only the beginning of Harry’s life
of a series of bewildering consequences that will be revealed to
be connected and interwoven throughout his remarkable search
for success, love and the truth surrounding his father’s death.
The suspenseful, surprise ending will literally keep you waiting
for the release of the sequel… “The Sins of the Father” due next
year!

LAWRENCE E. DEMMER 1921-2011
Our condolences go out to the family of Larry Demmer, who died October 9, 2011.
Larry and his mother, Mae, were instrumental in building our Demmer Library in memory of
his father, Edward U. Demmer.
In 1971, the Edward U. Demmer Foundation agreed to build a library in Three Lakes so
that the families of Three Lakes could have access to the resources that would allow for life-
long learning. Over the years, Larry continued his interest in the library by stopping in to chat
when he was at his home in Three Lakes. He was a man of varied interests as detailed in his
obituary which appeared in the October 12, 2011 issue of The Three Lakes News.
We, at the Demmer Library, appreciate all that he and his family and the Edward U.
Demmer Foundation have done and continue to do to support the Demmer Library and life-
long learning in our community. He will be missed.
