MESSAGE FROM THE HEADMASTER

Dear Lausanne Family & Friends,

At Lausanne, the partnership between the school, our students and our parents forms the foundation of school and student success. That’s why so much of what we do is dependent on the close relationships we form with one another and the contributions each of us makes to the health and welfare of the community as a whole.

In the following pages, you will see how you can become a partner in your child’s success by volunteering to help in the classroom, participating in our many activities and by giving to the school through Annual and Capital Giving.

When you’ve read this information, feel free to contact me with questions and thank you for being such an important part of the Lausanne community.

Cheers!

Stuart McCathieHeadmaster

THE GUIDE TO GIVINGWhat is the Lausanne Fund?

The Lausanne Fund is our yearly fund-raising campaign that supports those programs, projects, and services not included in tuition.

Why is the Lausanne Fund important?

While tuition covers 100% of our daily operations, many aspects of our campus and programming are enhanced by your additional gifts to the Lausanne Fund.

Questions? Contact Charlotte J. Albertson, Director of Annual Giving at 901-474-1029 or [email protected]

Who gives?Everyone! We hope parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, in short, everyone who is part of the Lausanne community will participate in the Lausanne Fund. Not only does it enhance the spirit of our special community but it also demonstrates to our major donors, foundations, and corporations that we are well supported by our friends.

What is a matching gift?A matching gift is a contribution to Lausanne by your employer. If your organization has a Matching Gift Program, then they will match, or possibly exceed, your annual gift to Lausanne. This is a unique way for some donors to increase the impact of their personal gift.

CAPITAL GIVING

What is Capital Giving?Periodically, the school seeks contributions from our community so that we can improve our educational facilities.

Why is Capital Giving important?Every building and the equipment that fills it is funded through the gifts of generous donors to the school. Without those gifts, we could not provide the superb learning environment which is such an important part of the Lausanne experience.

ENDOWMENT

PLANNED GIVING

What is an Endowment?Endowments are funds which are permanently set aside by donors and provide lasting support of our programs.

What is Planned Giving?Donors make gifts to Lausanne through annuities, trusts, life insurance and bequests. Because of the tax advantages of these gifts, donors can frequently make larger gifts than they ever thought possible.

THE GUIDE TO GETTING INVOLVED

How to get involved?

Lausanne Parent Connections

All parents are members of the parents association, Lausanne Parent Connections (LPC). Building relationships among our parents, students and faculty and furthering our mutually beneficial educational partnership is at the core of the work of the LPC. We hope that all parents get involved with LPC through our wide variety of events and opportunities. We start in the fall by hosting the Scholastic Book Fair for a week in October, culminating with the Fall Carnival and Peter Kling ‘86 Memorial PumpkinRun.Throughouttheyearwehostseveralfacultyappreciation events, most notable Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring. We also host the annual Auction, which celebrates a different theme each year and brings together parents and alumni for an evening of entertainment and fun. The success of our events relies heavily on our volunteers, and we encourage all parents to get involved in the area that suits your time and talents.

ALUMNI RELATIONS

What does Alumni Relations consist of?

Alumni Association

All individuals who have either graduated from or attended Lausanne for at least one year are considered alumni and are automatically members of the Alumni Association.

Alumni Board

The Alumni Board meets during the school year and participates in the life of the school in many ways, including sponsoring College Care Packages, and volunteering at the Fall Carnival. The Board welcomes and encourages all Alumni Association members to volunteer throughout the year.

The Lausanne Alumni Board & Alumni Association serve as a bridge between the school and the school’s alumni. Our spirit lies in inclusiveness, accomplishing our mission through our gifts of time, talent & treasure.

Alumni Connection Network

Lausanne’snetworkofClassandRegionalAgentsmaintainandcultivatetherelationship between alumni and the school. Agents take a personal interest in helping others relate to the school, enabling them to renew friendships and strengthen their loyalty toward their alma mater.
