From this, reports can be generated, which display shipments by reference number, making it easier to bill back shipping charges to your clients or customers, or to allocate the charges internally to a department or individual employee. 4. Improved customer service CampusShip also comes with our Quantum View Notify feature, which enables users to trigger an e-mail to their recipient containing the tracking number that links directly to www.ups.com, reducing the calls to your customer service from people wishing to trace packages or check tracking numbers. With the Shipment History feature, your staff can now respond to their own clients’ questions concerning their shipments with minimal delay. They simply look up the information on what they shipped, themselves. Finally, your staff can help clients manage their own returns. UPS Print Return Labels are available for your employees to print and mail to the consignee, either with the shipment or at a later date. Alternatively, they can request to have a UPS driver drop by your clients’ address to retrieve the article in question. Simple things which can keep your customers happy! 5. Case Study Delivery – as Smooth as Silk

October 20th 2003 saw thestart of UPS’s first-ever GlobalVolunteer Week, an internationalservice programme started with the spirit of promotingvolunteerism amongst all UPSemployees worldwide.

Across Europe, UPS employeesvolunteered over 700 hours to help build an animal shelter, distribute books tochildren in the UK, collect food for a food bank as well as cleaning and painting a day care centre.

All over the world, our employeesdevoted their weekend tobuilding schools, planting trees, distributing food to thehomeless and coordinating a blood drive.

UPS Chairman and CEO MikeEskew also joined in, helping60 fellow UPS employeesconstruct a computer lab for aprimary school in China’s HebeiProvince. UPS will be donatingthe computers and will provideongoing computer training forthe school’s teachers.

Nigel Goodson, HR Director, UPS, commented “The UPSGlobal Volunteer Day hasoffered us the chance to becomeinvolved in a wide variety ofprojects and represents UPS’scommitment to the communitiesit operates in, all around theworld. Reminder“Shipping” your data isas important as shippingyour packages

For customers using acommunicating version of our shipping software, UPS WorldShip™, it is importantto remember to complete the“end of day” processing taskwhen all shipments for the day have been entered into WorldShip and before the UPS driver arrives to collect them.

Even though your shippingdocuments have been printedsuccessfully, your information isnot uploaded into UPS’s systemsuntil this task is completed.

The benefit of uploading meansyour shipments are immediately“recognised” by our systemswhen they arrive at our facilitiesand subsequently move on theirjourney more efficiently.

This “end of day” activity alsotriggers the despatch of theshipment notification emailsyou have selected, to yourcustomers, so they are able totrack the shipments being sentto them. In addition, it’s acritical process if you are usingour Return Services, as thesecannot work without usreceiving the data from yourWorldShip system.

So, once you have processedyour last UPS shipment for theday, simply select “File” andthen “End of Day Processing”.

Should you receive a last minutepackage after this task has beencompleted, simply enter theshipment details into WorldShipand repeat the end of dayprocessing task.
