Cinnabon’s new outlet in Abu Dhabi Marina Mall received a huge applause and gathering of well wishers on the opening day of 30th August. Inaugurated with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Mr. Walid Hajj, the whole team was very excited about the opening.
We’re incredibly excited as Cinnabon continues its success story with the launch of this outlet with a refreshed new branding and identity, being second such outlet across the world after the USA.
To mark this day, media representatives, staff from Cravia and special invitees from Focus Brands, Fajr Capital and other entities joined us for celebrations over lunch and tried our new Cinnabon bites, drinks and the new Whoopee pie in chocolate and red velvet fl avors.

MOUSSA’S COLUMN
WHY LIVING IN SAUDI ARABIA IS MUCH EASIER THAN YOU THINK!As a Brand Manager living in Saudi Arabia for almost 4 years now, I would like to shatter a myth: Saudi Arabia is not a country with life conditions diffi cult to endure. The kingdom is often misrepresented by journalism, people, and television news.
My adventure started when I moved there in 2012 to open Zaatar w Zeit outlets, and the experience you gain working overseas is spectacular. Learning about new cultures and working with locals as well as expatriates widens your perspective and makes you more open-minded.
Moreover, entering a new market with a new brand, item, and overall concept was a challenge by itself that drove me to visit different areas, broaden my business networks, and outcome myself.
Stereotype unfortunately has gotten us thinking that Saudi Nationals are unfriendly, mean, and rude. However, if you can live with their rules you will get to see that they are friendly, hospitable and overly-shy people.
Family! Being a newly married man, I might still not have the full experience, but I do believe that being in a place like Saudi Arabia helps create a family that is very close and bonded. Almost all expats in Saudi Arabia discover that their family bonds are much stronger and that is mainly because you have to rely on each other to make the best out of things.
Closing at prayer-time! The issue that people question about most is even easier than you would imagine. To be honest when I fi rst got here, it took a bit of getting used to, but it took me a short while until I didn’t even notice it anymore. You simply have to plan when and where you are going around prayer time.
In conclusion, I would like to end with a statement I bumped into recently; “Expat life, like marriage, needs work. People think that it comes naturally, but it doesn’t, it comes down to communication and adjustment.”
It certainly helps if you are a very adaptable person in daily life and accept changes easily (something I have been working on rigorously), but if you are rigid in your routine, then possibly you will encounter some diffi culties.
After all, “Enjoying success requires the ability to adapt. Only by being open to challenge will you have a true opportunity to get the most from your talent.”
