    WE LOVE

    BOOKS!

In Book Week we did a sponsored read to raise

money for new books. Kineton Green Primary

School raised a wonderful £1,100! Kerry from

Beau Bookshop has given us £600 more! So,

had £1,700 to spend on books!

    Golden Ticket

In effort to ensure our children are reading a wide range of books there are golden tickets hidden in the books in the library that have not been read in a while if you find a golden ticket and can answer the questions about the book they will

    win a prize

BOOK WEEK IN KS1 Year Two In book week, we drew a picture of ourselves in our book cos-tumes. Some of the costumes were home-made, such as a beauti-ful Mary Poppins and some of the costumes were bought. Every-one looked great in their costumes. We all brought in £1 to raise

    money for Book Aid.

    By Neave Kone

Year One Neave Kone interviewing Harley-Joel Goddard Neave: Harley, what did you read? Harley: We read Quest. Neave: What happened in Quest. Harley: The little girl found a red pencil. Then she met a boy with a purple crayon. Then they had to get the yellow crayon. They had to dive in the sea! I liked it.

We had a special assembly where Kerry presented all of our brand new

books. Kai and Ethan were chosen to get the books because they had

raised the most amount of money.

    SPORT AT KINETON GREEN

Chance to Shine! Recently, Year 4 and 5 played in a Cricket Competi-tion (Chance to Shine) at West Warwickshire Cricket Club. They had lots of fun, and enjoyed the fun day. Despite the heat, the chil-dren performed well and were a excellent example and showed ALL of the 5 Bees.

Y5 Hockey On Tuesday 6th June some pupils

from year 5 played in a hockey

    tournament. As you might already

know, it was pouring with rain that

night so they had had a hard time.

    They were overall winners for

    South Solihull! They then repre-

sented South Solihull at the Coven-

    try-Solihull-Warwickshire County

    Finals at Warwick University. They

    finished 5th! Well done!!

    Swimming

A few months ago year 3

    were swimming every Thurs-

day. We used to go to Tudor

    Grange but then we went

    somewhere else. Some of us

    got certificates.

Football League! From September to February, the school Football Team have been playing matches at Old Sills, and recently played a match. They came third in the league. Well done every-body!

Netball The netball team worked hard every Friday to become their very best. With Mrs Mason as their coach they were sure to succeed.

    Sports Day

    Sports day was great. All

of the children did lots of

    races and were good

    team players. It was the

    Victorians who won!

    MR C IS A WINNER!

In March, Mr C was the winner of the National Disability Mentoring Award at the National Mentoring Awards in London. This was for all his hard work in schools to support young people with additional needs and

making learning and sport more inclusive for young people.

England Hockey Rising Star - Mr C

May saw Mr C win an award for his services and contribution to Hockey. Much of the recognition was down to his success with Y5 in 2018 when they won the County Finals. As well as this, Mr C was recognised for his work in schools to provide opportunities to experience hockey. His hard work has been rewarded as he is now off to Belgium in summer to speak at the Euro Hockey Federation Youth Panel as well as now (more recently) being selected as the National

Coach for the UK Lions ParaHockey Team who play in Belgium too.

    Prince Harry meets Mr C

On Tuesday 2nd July, Mr C presented at the Diana Award Youth Mentoring Summit. His talk to Nick Gibbs (Schools Minister) ex-plored his journey as a Health Mentor as well as sharing his many successes at Kineton Green. A video showcasing his work especially at Kineton Green was also shown to over 200 delegates including royalty, HRH Prince Harry and many people with

    knighthoods.

    Interview:

    1) How many awards have you won, where and what for?

I won the National Disability Mentoring Award in London in March for my work to help young people with physical and learning disa-bilities within and outside of school. I was recognised here for my

work in improving self esteem, confidence and key life skills.

In May I won Rising Star with England Hockey in Leicester, mainly due to my success with the Hockey team at Kineton Green last year with Y5 when we won the County Fi-

    nals.

    2) How did you feel?

Well, I will be honest, I was completely shocked to win these awards, going up against fantastic people who do work just as important as me, but in other areas of work. I feel quite proud of winning because it shows to me that my way of working is of a high standard but most importantly, regardless of winning or not, it

shows to me that I can inspire people and it's that talent I will hang onto and look to use to change lives.

    3) You're 22 and you've won 3 national awards. What is next?

I don't know if I am honest. I want to keep doing what I love which is to make an impact and change lives. For me it's not about titles, it is nice to get them, but I want to enjoy what I do and make more people

    smile.
