**IMPORTANT NOTICE** Re Mass Times The Parish Council & the Liturgy Group, along with Fr Hermi have addressed the issue of the weekend mass times.

-THERE IS NO MAIN MASS – all masses are of the same value.

The 1st & 4th Saturday night & the 2nd & 3rd Sunday Mass is when we come together to celebrate Eucharist as a

COMMUNITY.

At this mass we will follow the roster for –

Overhead, Welcomers at the door, Welcomers at the Mic, Readers, Communion Ministers etc.

The Mass times and Dates will follow the St. Mary’s Parish & School Calendar for 2019.

Saturday Mass on the 2nd & 3rd is a pastoral decision made by Fr Hermi for the convenience of those who, for whatever

reason, find themselves unable to celebrate Mass on the Sunday.

Ministers will be required for these Masses.

Of course, it up to you and your family as to when you wish to celebrate. We hope this brings clarification to the issue.

Please feel free to contact Fr Hermi, Mary Collins (PPC), Camille Kelloway (LG)

Congratulations to

George Robert Sheahan

who was baptised recently.

May the Holy Spirit continue to

inflame his heart.

The Op-Shop is in need of

Volunteers.

If you have a spare hour or two and

would like to give a helping hand,

contact Mary Collins or pop in and

chat with the lovely ladies (Who

knows, you may find some treasure

while you are there ).

Introduction

Trust. Trouble. Temptation. The Israelites remembered and trusted in God’s constant, guiding presence and gave back to God the first fruits of the land. The psalmist trusted God would be present in times of trouble.

Jesus survived temptation in the desert, only by trusting in God. In whom or in what do we

place our trust when we are troubled and tempted?

First Reading Deuteronomy 26:4-10

I have brought you the first fruits of this land flowing with milk and honey

Responsorial Psalm

Be with me, Lord, when I am in trouble

Second Reading

Romans 10:8-13

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved

Gospel Luke 4:1-13

You shall not put the Lord God to the test

Prayers of the Faithful For us as we begin this Lenten journey: for strength to overcome temptations that hurt our relationship with God, others and creation; for reconciliation of all broken relationships; and for a greater awareness of Jesus’ presence in our lives, we pray:

For greater appreciation for the “milk and honey” that flows through all creation; for a stronger desire to protect our natural resources; for a deeper awareness to see the interconnectedness of all life, we pray:

For those who are suffering ad a result of lack of rain, may they be blessed with the courage to continue to look to the future with hope, we pray:

May we open our hearts to Project Compassion, as we pray for all victims of injustice and poverty, that through our giving this Lent, lives may change, as we help provide opportunity of hope to the most vulnerable of our world, we pray:

We pray for all gathered here, that during this time of Lent we take time to reflect on our faith journey. To recognise the chains that bind us, to receive the forgiveness that comes with the acceptance and love of Christ, we pray.

Let us pray together.... God, we call out

to you. You hear our cry and see our affliction, our toil and our oppression. Let us journey this Lent seeing as you see, and trusting that with your help, we can right our relationships and our world. We ask this through Jesus your Son. Amen.
