The Jewellery Room!S/S 18 saw a venue change for The JewelleryRoom, from Nikola j Kunsthal to the RoyalDanish Playhouse. While the setting was new,the concept remained as it had before, with acarefully handpicked mix of mainly Nordicbrands from start-ups to high-street names.Copenhagen may be home, but co-foundingsisters Char lotte and Pernille made anexciting announcement at the launch –London's calling. A show is set for Septemberin collaboration with LFC and WGSN.

Julie Nielsdotter is a relative newcomer, but one that is a lready making an impact on home turf – she produced a collection for the S/S 18Stine Goya show held dur ing Copenhagen Fashion Week. Her thoughtful mix of clean lines with baroque freshwater pear ls and pastel stonessuch as pink diamonds, morganite and lace agate create pieces that are feminine and whimsical, yet structured and sophisticated.

The latest offer ing from Finnish brand Keski-Pomppu is inspired by the solar system. The brand produces pieces that are timeless, ratherthan focusing on seasons. Yellow gold – both polished and matte – a lludes to planetary surfaces, pulled together v ia moving parts for aConstructiv ist finish. Rock crysta ls are a key element, cut to a minimum with multiple facets to catch the eye.

London-based Swedish designer Elina Bergert cut her teeth in jewellery making thanks to her dentist father, who taught her to work withleftover gold fillings. Her new collection focuses on making a statement, with large-scale pieces and topical engrav ing. Items can be worn inmany ways, and a focus on working directly with mines makes these items susta inable in terms of production and return on investment.

MaryLous is just two years old, but a lready established in Copenhagen (the brand shares a store with Julie Nielsdotter). The collectioncombines hand-worked metals with precious stones and pear ls, with each piece telling its own story. Highlights include a code r ing – wherethe wearer chooses letters that mean something to them for engrav ing – and earr ings inspired by the cur ly hair of the designer 's fr iend.

Danish designer Char lotte Scott Moncrieff, who was based in London until a recent move to Turkey, refers to her new collection's hoopedearr ings as a symbolic hook back to home. Her statement pieces are perfect dur ing cold weather when high necklines will lead the eye to herearr ings. The tubular forms come in gold vermeil, and they are both emphasised and contrasted by black rhodium and white pear ls.
