Venue (updated 30.6.2016)

The ITSS 2016 will take place in the Aula Magna of the Department of HumanSciences, University of L'Aquila, close to the center of the town.

The address is: Via Nizza 14, L'Aquila 67100, Italy.

However, after arrival (Saturday, July 9th in the afternoon), the participants will be transferred to Fonte Cerreto, Hotel Fiordigigli, where they will have dinner and spendthe night. The following day (Sunday, July 10th), the Opening Session and the first two lectures of the School will be held there:

In the afternoon, the School will visit the Gran Sasso National Laboratories, located nearby.

The Laboratories are located underground, covered by appprox. 1.400m of rocks, forcosmic rays shielding, and 'quiet' particle physics experiments. The temperature in thelabs is relatively low (between 7° and 18°), so please take warm clothes with you.

After the visit, a bus will take the participants to their accommodations in L'Aquila,where the School will take place the following days.

Accommodation

From Sunday to Friday (for Saturday night, please read above):

Students will be hosted in Locanda San Pietro, in Preturo, in the neighbourhood. A free bus service will be provided in the mornings and in the afternoons.

How to get there

By plane to Roma airports:

There is a direct bus from both Roma airports (Fiumicino and Ciampino) to L'Aquila.The service is provided by the company Gaspari (www.gasparionline.it/). It is stronglyadvised to book the tickets in advance.
