Azienda Agricola CitariStand: 426 Region: Lombardy Web: www.citari.it

Created in 1975 by Francesco Gettuli, the Citari estate has grown over the years thanksto the love and enthusiasm passed down by the founder to his daughter, Giovanna, whonow runs the estate together with her husband, Ugo Mascini, and their children, MariaGiovanna and Francesco. It lies in a place steeped in history, the San Martino hill, a few yards from the tower ofthe same name erected as a memorial to the fierce battle fought here on June 24th,1859, during the second war of independence, which paved the way for the Unificationof Italy. Determination, a symbiotic relationship with the land and the constant blendof tradition, past and present, are the features that allow Citari to produce the threeprestigiousDOC wines of Lake Garda: Lugana, San Martino and Garda Classico. The Citari vineyards cover 22 hectares of gentle, south facing glacial slopes. The mildclimate and the terroir of Lake Garda create the most favorable pedoclimate for theperfect, traditional maturation of the grapes. The limited size of the vineyards, theharvesting entirely by hand, the careful selection of the bunches and the most moderncellar techniques all combine to enhance the peculiar characteristics of these wines, especially their structure and intense, fruity aromas.

Azienda Agricola PratelloStand: 339 Region: Lombardy Web: www.pratello.com

Vincenzo Bertola loves to talk about his company and his wines. He is driven by anambition, to make Pratello a house which are able to offer a little sip of Garda in everybottle, but also to displace the platitudes and clichés focusing on rather unusual varietiesand complex wines, which often aim to go beyond the identity of the area, but see themas an alternative to the more traditional types. To organize the new vineyard, VincenzoBertola has given high priority to agricultural management."The quality comes from the win yards. We first tried to understand where we were, andthen to suit the crops to the soil and climate of the area. All this is developed through acontinuous dialogue with industry experts, and especially with my father Dante whofounded the company and who still is by my side, he is the true soul of Pratelloagriculture"

After finishing his studies in agricultural science in 1986, Christian Bellei joined hisfather in the family’s winery known as “Francesco Bellei & C.”, located in Bomporto(Modena). Living right next door to the winery, Christian grew up as an apprentice boytaking care of almost any task involved with the wine-making activity, thus learning infull the meaning of winery management from the arrival of the grapes to be pressed, thesubsequent wine-making process, bottling and labeling up to packing the finished bottlesinto the cases to be marketed. Christian’s father was very fond of high quality sparkling wines and so workingalongside him afforded him the opportunity to learn how to taste a wine distinguishingany little detail. We tasted every single production together and the result of that activitygranted me a higher sensibility towards any nuance of a wine. He taught Christian howa single little note could make a wine really unique. For Christian, “wine is not the resultof an algebraic formula: it is the outcome of a serious research activity combined withunrestrained passion. Being able to taste a wine, from my personal point of view, is a sortof legacy”. This specific “legacy” is the milestone of a new venture which started in March2010. A group of friends, very fond of quality wines, offered Christian the chance to beinvolved first-hand in the management of a winery called CANTINA DELLA VOLTA. Thedeal is conditioned on a basic rule: that he must keep making wines his way. Cantina della Volta has become also a milestone of his working life, since it signified animportant turning point and offered the professional challenge he was waiting for.Indeed, it offered the opportunity to see his family’s old winery, founded in 1920, fullyrestored. This brand new building has now become the laboratory where he makes themost of his oenological talent creating wines of outstanding quality, obtained by thetraditional method of fermentation in bottle.

Baldassare Agnelli USA Stand: 333 Region: Lombardywww.agnelliusa.com Email [email protected]

Company Description:Time has passed since the historic site of the beginning of 1900 in Via Fantoni, in the centerof Bergamo , to the present modern factory in Lallio, in the province of Bergamo.

We made our long way since then, but the atmosphere you breathe has remained unchanged:industriousness, commitment, absolute research for quality and perfection in every singledetail and the awareness that the pulsating heart of a successful company is not the buildingsor machineries, but the aspiration, determination and mutual effort of the people working forit. A group philosophy filled with research and innovation, that has managed to acquire asolid primacy in the field of professional pans and pots, to such an extent that the expression“Agnelli Pan or Pot” is synonym of best production compliant with quality.

At the end of 1800, Baldassare Agnelli was the first to recognize the great potential ofaluminium, a material considered “noble” at that time, giving the go-ahead to the industrialconversion and founding the company that still keeps his name. Aluminium guaranteesexcellence in the kitchen thanks to its natural characteristics: uniform heat distribution, resistance, handiness and practicality.

The company Baldassare Agnelli, by promoting the study of materials and forms for cookware, enhances the Italian high cuisine, stressing how important it is to combine the appropriatetool with each recipe in order to exhalt its qualities.

A winning philosophy, capable of capturing the appreciation of chefs, restaurateurs, enogastronomes, gourmands and enthusiasts who recognize that Baldassare AgnelliProfessional Cooking products have “the edge over” the field of cooking instruments. But challenges, like exams, never finish and today the third and fourth generation of Agnelli'sfamily are taking up that legacy, inherited from the company's founder, to spread in Europeand in the world a label which is a byword for absolutely excellent cuisine.
