Partner Russell Foster recently negotiated new business with Western Drug and Medical Supply (WDMS), thanks to a successful 8-year old relationship that WDMS chose to renew even as they struggle to nav-igate the myriad of health care reform and work to obtain prop-er payment for services rendered. WeiserMazar’s role will be to assist with forthcoming and renewal contracting efforts, in-terface with health plans who are not paying for services cor-rectly, interface with state regulators as necessary, and pro-vide other technical and advisory services when needed.

Greetings from London!
I am currently on a six month secondment through mid-May with Mazars London. The opportunity to work abroad has been an incredible experience. I am working within the Financial Services audit team and growing my knowledge through my work with clients in the banking and insurance broker indus-tries. Auditing in another country has been a great step in my professional career. My work with the FS team has brought both the ability to contribute as well as to learn from my co-workers.
My time in London has given me the opportunity to experience the global diversity within Mazars through working with fellow employees from all over Europe. Speaking with them about their journeys to Mazars and life within the UK has been incredibly enriching. Personally this opportunity has been such a wonderful adventure from trips to Paris and Scotland, seeing shows in the West End, and exploring London’s numerous museums.
I look forward to bringing my experiences back with me to Chicago!

Meet Ben Koskovich, our new Senior Marketing Writer! Ben joined our firm in April 2016 and works in the NYO. After living most of his life on the west coast in San Diego and then Seattle, he now resides in New York City.
Ben supports the marketing team with proposal writing, copy writing and editing along with various other marketing initiatives. He holds a B.S. in Business from Full Sail University and an M.A. in English & Creative writing from Southern New Hampshire University.
Interesting fact about Ben: He enjoys writing screenplays in his spare time.

It’s time for our 2016 Make-A-Wish fundraiser! Last year, we sent 11-year-old Anna, diagnosed with Leukemia,
to Pompeii. The year before, we sent 14-year-old Evelyn, diagnosed with Lymphoid Leukemia, to Disney World to swim with dolphins.
Who are we fundraising for this year? Find out in person!
If we meet our goal of $5,000 by May 20th, we’ll meet our wish kid in person at the Make-A-Wish castle in New Jersey during one of our #WMGivesBack Volunteer Days!

On May 19th The Food & Beverage group will host the 4th annual New Jersey Food & Beverage Forum at the Pleasantdale Chateau. Attendees can look forward to an evening of C-level networking and an in-sightful panel discussion moderated by Lou Cooperhouse, Director of Rutgers Food Innovation Center and President of NJ Business Incubation Network.
Our panel consists of top food and beverage industry experts Cheryl Williams, Chief Information Officer of Wakefern Food Corp., David Rosenberg, CEO of AeroFarms and David Lipson, Owner and CEO of Interna-tional Foodsource LLC.

On June 15th the food and beverage segment will host the 3rd annual Food and Beverage Industry CFO Boot Camp. We developed this event as a result of our popular Food and Beverage Industry CEO Best Prac-tices Forums and the need for more in-depth topics for the CFO. World class speakers from leading com-panies in the fields of Finance, M&A, Accounting and Tax, will illuminate issues of concern to the food and beverage industry. We are thrilled to welcome this year’s keynote speaker Paul Leone, CEO of The Breakers Palm Beach.

This new team, under the leadership of Rebecca Goodman-Stephens, will work closely with the MSSLs and OSGs to design and execute on projects in alignment with the strategic growth path and goals of the firm.
Get better acquainted with Shelley Parker, one of the Strategic Project Managers.
Shelley joined the firm in December of 2011 as an Executive Assistant. In November of 2015, she was promoted to a Strategic Project Manager working within the Real Estate Group and SPMO team. Prior to joining WeiserMazars, Shelley acquired 10 years’ experience in a Tax Administrator position, working for a Chicago Accounting firm where she also supervised the Administrative staff. Shelley is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Kean University.
Fun facts about Shelley:
• She was the prom queen in high school!• She is an avid NBA fan and used to play basketball in high school.• One of her favorite shows is The Big Bang Theory.• She is one of five children.

Weight Watchers Wednesdays
Weight Watchers coach Lisette visited the LIO every Wednesday during busy season to promote healthy snacks by distributing free samples. Anyone who was interested in joining Weight Watchers was able to talk to her about the program!

Water and WasteWater equiPMent ManuFacturers association 43rd annual Washington ForuM
Bob Wilson presented during Water Week on a white paper to be released this spring on the “circular economy” and the potential impacts it could bring to the manufacturing sector. The team also met with over 20 target companies during this event. Bob Wilson, Jerome Devillers and Julie Petit attended.

On April 6th, Michael Schulstad and Michael Kupka gave a great presentation regarding the Troubled Asset Relief Program for the Consumer Affairs Com-mittee of the New York City Bar Association, which addresses current consumer protection issues on the national, state and local levels.

Pao oPening day event
On April 4th the Pennsylvania Office held an Opening Day event to celebrate the Phillies’ first game of the regular season. Visitors networked with other WeiserMazars cli-ents and referrals while watching the game and enjoying ballpark snacks like popcorn, peanuts, hot dogs and more. The office was able to join in the fun as well! It was a wel-come break during busy season!

The PAO sponsored the 12th Annual Sandy Sprint Run/Walk on Saturday, April 23rd. They had a five person team, and John Lee’s daughter, Caitlin, won the 12 and under age group! The Sandy Sprint is hosted by the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation, which is dedicated to raising awareness of ovarian cancer.

Congratulations to Chaand Vora and PJ Manchanda on becoming trivia winners! This busy season, a different trivia question was sent to the LIO every week and our two new trivia champs had the most correct answers from January - April. PJ won a $50 gift card for first place and Chaand won a $25 gift card for second place.

On April 21st, Ken Pogrob, Develeen Fredericks and Janine Pinto attended the NJCPA Scholarship Awards Ceremony where they presented the WeiserMazars award to winner Radhika Kapadia.
The NJCPA Scholarship Fund has been able to award over $400,000 to New Jersey college students through the support of firms like ours!
boston Marathon 2016
Congratulations to New Jersey’s Ben Hutterer on completing the 2016 Boston Marathon! This 26 mile course followed a point-to-point route from Hopkin-ton to Boston. Go Ben!

The NYO held a lunch for Administrative Professionals Day on April 27th to show appreciation of the work carried out by our administrative professionals on a daily basis and to highlight their importance to the firm!

The PAO and NJO held a Take Your Child to Work Day. The children created arts and crafts, got their faces painted, pinned the tail on the donkey, got candy from a piñata, made holes-in-one with office golf and explored the offices!
