Member Spotlight

Cindy Greenman is originally from Michigan. She has her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Central Michigan University. She received her Ph.D. from Northcentral University in Arizona.

Cindy has worked in Managerial Accounting and Public Accounting for many years, working in all aspects of both fields.

Cindy now works for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott. She teaches all of the various accounting classes and is the new Chair of the Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination Bachelor Degree program.

Why did you decide to become a CFE?

I became a CFE because of my interest in the area, to give more credibility to what I was teaching and to gain professional visibility.

What have you gained from your membership in the ACFE Arizona Chapter?

Unfortunately, the meetings are held in the middle of the day and are quite a distance for me to travel, so I am unable to attend the regular meetings. However, I find the newsletters informative and I hope to utilize the networking aspect in the future.

What are your favorite hobbies and activities?

I love to travel. Luckily I am able to travel for the university recruiting and on research trips, so it makes it affordable. I also love to go hiking with my husband. We usually spend our Sunday afternoons out on the trails in the Prescott and Sedona area. I love to cook and bake. We usually have a houseful of family and students for holidays.

If you won the Mega Millions jackpot tomorrow, what would you do?

I would set aside enough money for both of my children to be comfortable for the rest of their lives. I would pay-off my mortgage and student loans. With whatever was left I would setup a charitable foundation. I know that I would keep working. I can’t ever imagine not teaching. I don’t do well with “down-time.” I like to stay busy.
