For anyone seriously considering a future in business, London should be your first choice. The commercial capital of Europe, with unrivalled transport links, it is a fantastic place to forge strong professional relationships that will benefit you for a lifetime. It is no coincidence that London is a base for most global players in finance, consulting, IT and professional services.

Imperial College London is located in South Kensington, one of the most fashionable, vibrant and cosmopolitan parts of London. It is one the world’s most important cultural centres, boasting major institutions such as the Royal College of Art, the Royal College of Music and the Royal Albert Hall, all within five minutes of the Business School campus.

We also enjoy close proximity to the Serpentine Lake and Gallery, just across Hyde Park, our very own neighbourhood garden. If you want urban chic or bustle, the fabulous stores of Knightsbridge and some of the best restaurants and bars in the city are just down the road.

You’ll work collaboratively and test out new ideas and theories in a supportive environment where you can reflect on what you’ve learned. You can then take new ideas back to your organisation where you apply them and then feed back your experiences in the classroom on a regular basis.

The Weekend Executive MBA programme has been designed with flexibility in mind. You’ll attend classes over one long weekend per month, studying with our internationally diverse cohort, who will offer their own unique viewpoints and experiences.

You will attend one long weekend a month from April to January (Thursday afternoon, Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning), studying in the day and networking with your MBA colleagues and Business School staff at dinner each evening.

The format of the programme allows students to travel from around the world, giving a truly global perspective to your MBA.

In addition to time spent at the Business School, you’ll have to cover a lot of material independently outside the classroom. Online learning tools help you stay in touch between weekends, so you still have support. However, you’ll need the confidence to take concepts into the workplace and test them out before covering them in the classroom.

yOU MAy fINd ThE WEEKENd PROGRAMME SUITS yOU If:

You would like a London-based programme without the need to relocate

You do not want to take time away from work every fortnight

You are able to attend classes at the weekend

You enjoy studying independently and want to consolidate your learning by sharing thoughts and ideas with your classmates

You have the confidence to grapple with quantitative material outside the classroom

Matopy aims to revolutionise the way people interact with the web by applying speech and sound technologies and a more innate way of accessing online content. Matopy turns websites into audio, making them easy to understand and navigate through listening. By using different voices, music and sound effects, the audio experience becomes as rich as the colours, fonts and layouts of the visual web. The product is of great value to individuals with visual impairment.

Ananas Anam was created seven years ago in the Philippines by Carmen Hijosa, a design consultant with vast experience in the leather goods industry. Highly aware of the harmful effects of leather production on the environment, Carmen went on to explore new materials that could address these concerns. Research into tropical fibres led Carmen to the discovery of the innovative new material Piñatex, composed of fibres extracted from the waste leaves of the pineapple plant. The new leather alternative is applicable to the footwear, accessories and furniture industries.

The final business plan was developed by a team of five MBA students and a Design London fellow. Ananas Anam was awarded the Social Entrepreneurship prize at the 2012 Business Plan Competition.
