recipe of the monthIts time to get the barbeque out, so why not try our recipe of the month. This vibrant sauce is hot with sweet and sour flavours that permeate the Salmon. Absolutely delicious – perfect for a summer BBQ

Ingredients• 4 Salmon fillets (175 grams each) • 1 small red onion• 1 garlic clove• 6 plum tomatoes• 25g butter• 3 tbsp tomato ketchup • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard• 2 tbsp Dark brown sugar• 1 tbsp clear honey• 1 tbsp Chilli powder • 1 tbsp paprika • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce• 1 tsp cayenne pepper

What to do1. Finely chop the red onion and dice the garlic and tomato’s finely. Then set to one side.2. Melt the butter in a large heavy based pan. Add then the onion and garlic and gently cook until translucent.3. Add the tomato’s and simmer for 15 minutes.4. Add all the other ingredients EXCEPT the salmon and simmer for a further 20 minutes. Leave to cool slightly then pour the mixture into a food processor and blend until smooth. Leave to sauce mixture to go cold.5. Brush the salmon with the sauce and then place in the fridge for 2 to 3 hours. 6. Cook on a hot barbeque for about 6 minutes, basting with the sauce.

Tip!If you prefer, replace the salmon with chicken breasts, and increase the BBQ cooking time to 8/10 minutes.

I was determined not to spend my life as a fuzzy-wuzzy, I recently decided to do some research, and discovered an amazing secret, newly imported to the oak-lined lanes of rural Warwickshire from the Amazonian jungle.

I entered the contemporary hair salon with both hope and scepticism. Could this be the solution or just another empty promise of sleek hair utopia? Neil Harvey’s relaxed, gentle manner, underpinned by a quiet confidence reassured me as he set to work on my crowning-glory, which to date has endured much maltreatment. A glorious shampooing included a very invigorating head massage, followed by a gentle towel drying and blow dry, which left my hair slightly damp. Neil set about the application of the smooth Brazilian serum, which on my long tresses took around two hours, although Neil does say that the time of application depends on hair length and thickness. I enjoyed a delicious herbal tea while waiting for the elixir to work its magic! Unlike other products available on the market, such as crème relaxes or the Japanese Straightening System, the Miracle Brazilian Blow Dry with Keratin and Collagen replenishes the hair without damage or change to

the molecular structure. After application of the product, it is infused with a ceramic straightener, which hydrates the hair and seals in moisture to create a glossy, sleek finish.

The results were visible immediately and I was thrilled with my shiny curtain of healthy looking hair that seemed to regain the youthful look I enjoyed as a child. Neil instructed me to keep my hair dry for the next

three days, during which, it must not be tied back or any kind of headgear worn. After three days, you are free to wash it as

normal. I left Neil’s salon with a new sense of brio!

Months have passed since my miracle treatment and my hair has maintained a wonderful condition I never thought possible. I haven’t felt the need to get out the hair irons. Neil tells me that the more treatments

you have, the more improvement you see in the condition of your hair. Even in the awful wet weather this winter – no frizz! I spent

a week recently in the Far East, and my sleek hair was totally unfazed by the humidity.

Not even a mini-monsoon worried it – it just stayed straight!

There are several different hire options available, and it is this flexibility, along with the originality of the set-up, which is proving to be the key to success. Helen and Giovanni particularly enjoy the diversity of events for which their bus bar is so popular – from race meetings to weddings to classic car rallys and festivals. “We absolutely love running this business” said Helen “every hire exceeds our client’s expectations, the bus just makes everyone smile, it’s such a novelty and great fun”. Indeed, the hosts provide many added value extras, such as locating a suitable venue if necessary, support with event planning and efficiently running the party from start to finish.

The bus is styled beautifully, with a large traditional oak bar in the lower deck – which serves via the bus side windows – chilled draft beer, lagers, cider and guinness, along with wines and spirits. Upstairs in the top deck guests are always amazed to find a fabulous luxury cocktail lounge – complete with kitch mirrored cocktail bar and resident waitress – who will freshly prepare

delicious (and heady) cocktails late into the night! The old bus seats have been removed throughout and the bus is now panelled in oak, beautifully lit, and has gorgeous hand sewn red leather seating inside.

The bespoke marquee is the only one like it ever made. Holding up to 300 guests, it is a very atmospheric space which can be adapted for many different purposes. Most typically used for weddings or birthday parties, it is also great for music events, fashion shows and product launches. If required the marquee may also be attached to another, larger marquee at balls or big events thus providing an unusual bar or entertainment space. For more intimate parties, there is a reduced size version of the marquee available, or an awning.

Deckerdence is in its second year now, and has already notched up many satisfied customers, especially newly weds. Hire prices are kept as low as possible, so to have the whole thing is no more expensive than a decent marquee would be, but you get the bus in the middle and all bar staff as well – not to mention a night to remember forever. So if you desire a celebration that will stand out from all others, and never be forgotten by your guests, then consider what Deckerdence has to offer.

Deckerdenceis a unique and highly individual venue, dreamt up and created by owners Helen Bleakman and Giovanni Caffo, based near Droitwich. In 2008 they lovingly converted a vintage double decker bus into a high spec mobile bar, complete with huge wraparound marquee, which may be hired for wedding receptions, civil partnerships, private parties, corporate and outdoor events.
