Since its foundation as Eisen-gießerei und MaschinenfabrikLangenstein & Schemann, Ernst-hütte Coburg, in 1863, our com-pany has devoted its efforts to themanufacture of machines that pro-vide the most economic solutionsto forming tasks. The efficiency,the quality and the progressivenature of our products is the reasonwhy LASCO Umformtechnik enjoysworld-wide recognition as a sup-plier of technology and as an inno-vator in the forming industry.

Our focus is on massive and sheet-metal forming, as well as on pow-der metallurgy. Moreover, LASCOmachines and lines have been con-vincing for many years also in the

production of building material andwhere machines for special appli-cations are concerned.

The purpose of our activities is therequests of our customers. Basedon the foundation of decades ofexperience and on current techni-cal progress, we look for, find andrealise the best solution for yourindividual demands. This includesautomation, handling and interfacetechnology in the same way as themodernising of veteran manufac-turing units. As a seasoned mechanical engi-neering company we fear neithersize nor weight. LASCO formingunits are among the most mas-sive of their kind in the world.Admittedly, size alone is notenough. The efficiency of productsand services counts in a competi-tive environment.

As a consequence, we have – atan earlier date than anyone else -started to consider the hydraulicsystem the central part of ourmachine conceptions. The lead inknow-how gained from this is stillthe reason for our prominentcompetitive position where solu-tions with oil-hydraulic drives areconcerned, which we offer for allcommon types of machinery usedin the forge-shop, whether theyare work or force related.

Moreover, our deep-rooted know-how enables us to solve over andover again tasks related to specialforming processes. Such a know-how transfer is, for example, theinnovation in sand-lime block pro-duction that, within a decade, hasmade LASCO the leading providerof sand-lime block presses in theworld market. Likewise, it is a syno-nym of widely acknowledgedachievements with respect to buil-ding machines for special applica-tions – such as in sinter technology,powder forging, aluminium formingand the machining of hi-tec cera-mics.

In more than 60 countries all overthe world competent LASCO repre-sentatives have been entrustedwith the task of providing product-related advice to interested partiesand of attending to their needs, aswell as giving information to ourbusiness partners at fairs and exhi-bitions. In North America (LASCOEngineering Services, Detroit) andin China (LASCO Beijing Office,

Beijing) we have our own sub-sidiaries. Our management, deve-lopment and sales engineers are inactive and personal dialogue withusers world-wide. We can explainand demonstrate the conception,quality and performance character-istics of our products at your facil-ities at any time.

A well-established service team of40 experienced experts ensures thetrouble-free installation and timely

commissioning of our products atthe customer factory. Even if prob-lems arise which the customercan’t solve, this team will be pre-sent at the customer factory quick-ly and reliably. In order to avoid theformation of such problems alto-gether, we provide extensive train-ing for the operating and mainten-ance personnel.

In addition, we offer for all ourproducts first-hand maintenanceand repair service. All machinesand lines can be equipped with amodern remote maintenancesystem. Based on up-to-date pic-ture and data transfer technology,this system enables the servicespecialist at the parent firm to getaccess to machine data and controlsituations – wherever the machinemay be installed. Our experts areable to diagnose, make adjust-ments, and provide help for the re-spective maintenance and change-over crews so that the customer cantake the matter in his own hands.This saves time and money.

LASCO has an independent busi-ness section called „LASCOMultimedia Services“ in order toexpand services appropriate to thecustomer by making comprehen-sive use of the possibilities ofmodern information technology.

LASCO places the focus of its maincompetence on machine tool con-struction for forming applications,sensor technology, automationtechnology, as well as control anddrive technology. About 15 % ofthe workforce is engaged in re-search and development to increasethe efficiency of products and proc-esses.

The impulse for this continuouswork comes from various sources.The most important impulse is thepermanent dialogue with businesspartners and users all over theworld. Ideas arise from and priori-ties for development set by dealingpractically with new or modifiedtasks and problems. Of similarimportance is the exchange of qual-
