For 158 years, the Carlisle Family YMCA has strengthened the Carlisle community for kids, adults, seniors and families with programs that protect, teach, connect, heal, nourish and encourage. It’s how we always have helped our community and the people who live here to find the power of their full potential. And we don’t plan to stop fulfilling that mission anytime soon.

This past fiscal year we were excited to team up with Carlisle Barracks Oktoberfest to present a new race. The OktoberFEAST Almost 5K Run / Walk presented by Daily Express Inc. was a blast! Humans did their best to avoid the Undead in this unique event that we hope to continue to grow year after year.

After seeing a slight decline in attendance for New Frontiers Day Camp, we tweaked the programming. We separated the summer into three, three-week sessions, each with a different focus. The result was a boost in attendance and much happier kids and counselors!

When the sponsors of our annual Get Your Pink & Blue On Challenge approached us to see how we could expand the program, we added two one-week challenges within the two-month challenge to raise even more money for the PA Breast and PA Prostate Cancer Coalitions. Cycle for the Cure and (breast)Stroke for the Cure helped us nearly double the total from the year before. Thank you Diane Funston and Richard Smith for your continued support of this challenge and for pushing us to do even more to raise awareness!

In April we unveiled two new Expresso HD Upright Bikes in the Adult Fitness Center. They are some of the coolest and most fun pieces of cardio equipment ever imagined. The courses and challenges will keep people of all fitness levels engaged and push you to improve.

Thank you for being a part of our STRONG HISTORY. We look forward to your continued support as we work toward our BRIGHT FUTURE.

Ray “Buz” Wolfe, Jr. Marcia L. Drozdowski

We firmly believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve, under the guidance of caring adults who believe in their potential. That’s why we established Camp Thompson Resident Camp over 90 years ago and why we started the first Boy Scout troop in the area in 1931. And it’s why we started youth basketball and soccer in the 1970s. It’s also why we opened a child care center in 1989. We have a STRONG HISTORY of helping area kids succeed and we have a BRIGHT FUTURE ahead of us.

Our Community Partner recognition plan recognizes the companies and organizations that generously support the Carlisle Family YMCA.

Organizations that contributed money or services to our Y totaling at least $5,000 during the 2016-17 fiscal year qualified for the Community Partner recognition plan. Banners with the company logos are displayed prominently in our Adult Fitness Center. We also recognize them on the informational TVs located across from the Welcome Center and outside the Gymnasium and on our website.

It is our hope that this recognition within the Y both promotes and generates good will for these companies.

If you have any questions about this program or want to get involved, call Development Director Cate Mellen at 717-243-2525 ext. 203.
