Introduction

Health is a blessing and we should take care of our health to live a happy life. Our diet

contributes to a major part of our physical health. Healthy eating saves us from various diseases

and helps reduce our medical expenses. There are some ingredients that have very useful health

benefits. One of such ingredients is “turmeric”. It is the spice that gives these dishes the

characteristic yellow color.

Turmeric is an incredible ingredient with a lot of advantages due to the bioactive

compounds contained in it. It is a very strong anti-oxidant and has anti-inflammatory

characteristics. It easily dissolves fats and stimulates the natural body anti-oxidants. It also lowers

the risk of brain diseases and helps improve memory as well. It greatly decreases the risk of heart

diseases.

This cookbook is packed with 50 recipes that contain turmeric. I hope you will enjoy

making each and every recipe.

Turmeric Dressing

Cooking time: 05 mins Servings: 01

Ingredients: ½ cup tahini sauce 2 tablespoons lime juice 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 pinch cayenne pepper Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Whisk together all ingredients in a large bowl. 2. Season with salt and pepper. 3. Serve and enjoy!

Turmeric Soup

Cooking time: 50 mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

1 potato

1 kombu piece

1 cup bonito flakes

2 cups coconut milk

3 tablespoons miso

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 lemon juice

3 cups water

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

2. Bake potato in oven for 40 minutes until soft.

3. Remove skin and scoop out the center.

4. Mix water and kombu in a bowl and set aside to soften.

5. Heat the kombu mixture till water start boiling.

6. Remove kombu from the pot and discard.

7. Now add bonito in this water.

8. Simmer on low heat for 6 minutes.

9. Strain the solids out of the mixture.

10. Add this water to the blender with potato, milk, miso and turmeric powder.

11. Blend and pour back into the pot.

12. Heat a little and stir in lemon juice.

13. Pour in serving bowls and enjoy!

Turmeric Tea

Cooking time: 12mins Servings: 02

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

1 pinch clove

1 pinch nutmeg

1 teaspoon turmeric

2 cups water

1 teaspoon honey

1 cup coconut milk

Directions:

1. Heat water and spices for 10 minutes on medium high heat.

2. Strain out the solid ingredients.

3. Add milk and honey in the end.

4. Serve hot and enjoy!

Lentil Veggie Burger

Cooking time: 10mins Servings: 02

Ingredients:

1 cup lentils

1 boiled and mashed potato

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons mashed flax

3 minced garlic cloves

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

Brown bread slices

Directions:

1. Put all ingredients in blender and process until evenly mixed. 2. Make patties from the batter. 3. Fry patties on both sides in melted butter. 4. Place patties between bread slices. 5. Serve and enjoy!

Watermelon Smoothie

Cooking time: 05mins Servings: 02

Ingredients:

3 cups diced watermelon pieces

1 ½ cup pineapple pieces

1 peeled and deseeded orange

1 cup coconut milk

1 cup coconut water

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon honey

Directions:

1. Put all ingredients in a food processor. 2. Blend until smooth. 3. Serve in glasses.

Ginger and Turmeric Pickle

Cooking time: 03months Servings: 06

Ingredients:

4 tablespoons grated ginger

4 tablespoons grated turmeric

1 cup olive oil

1 teaspoon mustard seeds

1 teaspoon chili

Salt to taste

1 lemon juice

Directions:

1. Heat oil in a pan.

2. Add all spices in the oil

3. Heat until mustard seeds pop.

Kale Scramble

Cooking time: 10 mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

4 eggs

2 cups kale, chopped

1 tablespoon turmeric

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon butter

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Melt butter in a pan. 2. Whisk eggs in a bowl. 3. Cook kale in the pan until soft then add eggs. 4. Add spices and cook more. 5. Serve and enjoy!

Anti-inflammatory Tea

Cooking time: 20mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

3 cups boiling water

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 tablespoon ginger

½ cup chopped cilantro

1 minced garlic clove

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 orange juice

Directions:

1. Boil water on medium high heat.

2. Add all ingredients to water.

3. Strain into a pot.

African Hot Toddy

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon honey

1 pinch turmeric powder

1. Warm milk and add all ingredients to it.

2. Simmer for 05 minutes.

3. Pour in tea cups and enjoy!

Hangover Cure

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh milk

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

2 peppercorns

1 pinch cardamom powder

½ teaspoon chopped ginger

1 pinch cinnamon

1 teaspoon honey

Directions:

1. Heat milk on medium high heat.

2. Add remaining ingredients and lower flame.

3. Simmer for 05 minutes.

4. Serve and enjoy!

Mango Lassi

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon honey

2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 diced mango

1 pinch cinnamon

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 pinch cardamom powder

1. Add all ingredients in a blender.

Yellow Lentil Curry

Cooking time: 15mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

1 cup yellow lentils

2 cups vegetable stock

½ cup coconut milk

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon mustard seeds

4 curry leaves

1 chopped green chili

2 teaspoon tamarinds paste

1 teaspoon sugar

1 tablespoon ground peanuts

Directions:

1. Pour stock in a pot and add yellow lentils to it.

2. Bring to boil then reduce heat and cook until soft.

3. Add coconut milk.

4. Heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds in it.

5. When seeds pop, add curry leaves and chili.

6. Add tamarinds, turmeric, sugar, salt and water.

7. Cook for 2 minutes then pour in the lentil mixture.

8. Stir well and sauté on low heat.

9. Top with chopped peanuts.

10. Serve and enjoy!

Indian Sea Bream

Cooking time: 15mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

2 Indian sea breams

1 tablespoon grated ginger

3 minced garlic cloves

4 tablespoons yogurt

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoons turmeric powder

2 teaspoon chili powder

2 teaspoon cumin seeds

Directions:

1. Mix ginger, garlic and salt and rub over sea bream.

2. Mix yogurt with olive oil, turmeric, chili, cumin and seasonings.

3. Coast the fish with this mixture.

4. Cook for 10 minutes on each side on BBQ rack until cooked.

Red Lentils Curry

Cooking time: 30mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

1 cup red lentils

1 cup coconut milk

2 chopped onions

2 chopped tomatoes

2 chopped green chilis

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

2 curry leaves

2 teaspoon mustard leaves

Directions:

1. Put red lentils, milk, onion, tomatoes, chili and turmeric in a pan with water.

2. Simmer for 25 minutes until tender.

3. In a pan fry onion, curry leaves and mustard seeds in oil.

4. Pour this mixture over the lentils.

5. Serve with bread and enjoy!

Thai Roast Curry

Cooking time: 01 hour 15 mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

1 chopped onion

2 minced garlic cloves

2 lamb leg steaks

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 red chili, chopped

1 teaspoon cumin powder

½ teaspoon cardamom powder

1 pinch saffron

2 cups chicken stock

1 tablespoon tomato sauce

1 cup chickpeas

1 bunch chopped coriander

2 tablespoon pomegranate seeds

1 small cucumber sliced

Directions:

1. Heat oil and fry onions in it until soft.

2. Add the chili and garlic, then add lamb and cook for 5 minutes.

3. Stir in spices, stock, puree and molasses.

4. Cover the pot and cook for 40 minutes.

5. Uncover and add chickpeas.

6. Cook for 30 minutes more.

7. Season with herbs and pomegranate seeds.

8. Toss with cucumber and serve.

Duck Curry

Cooking time: 01 hours 30 mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

4 duck leg pieces

1 teaspoon Chinese spice mix

4 tablespoons red curry paste

1 pinch turmeric powder

1 cup coconut milk

1 cup chicken stock

2 cups egg noodles

1 bunch coriander

1 chopped onion

1 tablespoon lime juice

4 tablespoons fish sauce

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 300 degrees F.

2. Rub duck legs with Chinese spice mix and salt.

3. Bake in oven for 1 hour 20 minutes.

4. Take a pan and put curry paste and coconut cream.

5. Fry for few minutes then add turmeric, milk and stock.

6. Simmer for 6 minutes.

7. Tear duck legs into small pieces and put in the sauce.

8. Cook noodles until soft.

9. Stir in lime juice and fish sauce.

10. Divide noodles in 4 serving bowls.

11. Top with onion and coriander.

12. Serve and enjoy!

Cauliflower Curry

Cooking time: 45mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon coriander powder

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 cup coconut milk

1 cauliflower head florets

½ cup coriander leaves

1 cup basmati rice

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 chopped onion

1 tablespoon grated ginger

4 curry leaves

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon curry powder

1 pinch red chili powder

1 cauliflower head florets

2 tablespoons cooking oil

1 chopped onion

1 cup cooked rice

½ chopped coriander

1 teaspoon mustard seeds

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

2 tablespoons yogurt

Directions:

1. Put the spices, oil and onion with cauliflower in a bowl.

2. Mix well and put into a pan.

6. Pour over the rice.

7. Add yogurt and coriander leaves.

Carrots with Yogurt Rice

Cooking time: 25mins Servings: 04

Ingredients:

2 cup chopped carrots

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 chopped green chili

2 chopped shallots

1 teaspoon ginger

¼ chopped coriander leaves

1 lime juice

1 cup rice, cooked

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

4 tablespoons yogurt

Directions:

1. Boil carrots in water for 5 to 10 minutes until tender. 2. Fry chili and shallots in oil in a pan. 3. Add ginger and fry more. 4. Then add carrots, coriander and lemon juice. 5. Season rice with turmeric and oil. 6. Divide in 4 bowls and top with carrots and yogurt.

Turmeric Chicken

Cooking time: 25mins Servings: 06

Ingredients:

6 boneless chicken thighs

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 pinch pepper

Salt to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:

1. Take a bowl and mix together chicken, honey, soy sauce, pepper and salt. 2. Coat chicken evenly. 3. Heat oil in a pan. 4. Fry chicken in oil on each side for 10 minutes until crispy. 5. Serve hot and enjoy!

Cauliflower Dip

Ingredients:

1 steamed cauliflower head

3 tablespoons tahini sauce

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 minced garlic cloves

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

½ teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon Indian spice mix

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients in a blender.

2. Blend until smooth.

3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Serve with vegetables.

Ingredients:

2 cups milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon coconut oil

Directions:

1. Put ingredients in a pan.

Ingredients:

1 cup chopped horseradish

1 cup diced garlic

1 cup diced onion

½ cup diced ginger

½ cup diced turmeric

1 green chili chopped

1 sliced orange

1 chopped lemon

¼ cup chopped parsley

1 tablespoon peppercorns

2 cups apple vinegar

½ cup honey

Directions:

1. Put all ingredients in a glass jar except honey.

2. Fill jar with vinegar to cover all ingredients.

3. Shake daily and place for 5 weeks.

Ingredients:

1 cup chickpeas

½ cup tahini sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil

½ cup water

2 minced garlic cloves

1 lemon juice

Salt to taste

½ teaspoon turmeric

2 diced carrots

Directions:

1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth.

2. Serve with potato snacks.

Paleo Granola

Cooking time: 1 hour Servings: 4

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon coconut oil

1 small chopped onion

1 minced garlic

1 pinch ginger

1 pinch cumin

1 pinch coriander

1 pinch salt

1 pinch turmeric

1 teaspoon lemon juice

2 cups coconut flakes

1 cup roasted almonds

1 cup roasted cashews

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

2. Heat oil in skillet and fry garlic, onion and ginger in it for 5 minutes until soft.

3. Mix together cumin, coriander, salt and turmeric in a bowl.

4. Add this mixture to onions and cook for 5 minutes more.

5. Stir in lemon juice.

6. Add coconut flakes and sauté for 2 minutes.

7. Transfer the mixture to baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes.

8. Add nuts and roast again for 15 minutes.

9. Cool to room temperature and serve.

Lemony Eggless Salad

Ingredients:

Dressing

6 tablespoons mayonnaise

3 tablespoons mustard

1 lemon zest

Salad

12 ounces tofu

½ cups roasted almonds

2 teaspoons capers

¼ cup chives

1 tablespoon butter

4 teaspoon creole seasoning

1-pound shrimp

1 chopped red bell pepper

1 chopped onion

2 diced avocados

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Rub creole seasoning on shrimp.

2. Melt butter in a skillet over high heat.

3. Add shrimp and sauté for few minutes.

4. Take a bowl and mix bell pepper, onion, avocado, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

5. Top with shrimp and serve.

1 teaspoon turmeric

1 pinch black pepper
