Barbara Arner who came up with an idea of

rotating tie rack. Since she always had the

problem to organize to her husband’s ties, so she

came up with this brilliant idea. With Tarlow

For Barbara to look for ties was a mission as they

used to end up on the floor of the closet always

and get all rumbled up, and then her husband used

to wake her up while searching his tie through a

dark closet to find the exact colour tie he wanted.

Her innovative idea was to have a tie rack which

revolved automatically like the mechanisms found

at dry cleaners. Barbara contacted Tarlow designs

and visited Tarlow Design studio. After Ken

signed a confidentiality contract, then she gave a

clear picture of her idea. Initially Ken was a bit

skeptical that will people be really willing to pay

for such a thing.

Then we took a plunge and built a concept

prototype to test the key features and get feedback

from potential buyers. Most of the women in the

focus group said that it would make a great gift for

their husband or boyfriend and since they had a

hard time figuring out what to gift them on their

birthdays or anniversaries, holidays and more. In

US most of the sale say about over 50% occurs

during holiday season, that’s when we decided

and thought this is the perfect time to launch.

With positive reviews from everywhere regarding

the product, Tarlow went ahead to fully establish

the fast track tie rack. We produced manufacturing

drawings and created a good-looking functioning

model. The fast track tie rack was an instant hit at

every household show, and retail buyers signed a

purchase contract right there and the fast track tie

rack was a famous product now. Over the years

over four million Fast Track Tie Racks have been

sold worldwide, and our new millionaire Barbara

Arne, she received over 1 million dollars in

royalty payments.
