Comcast-Spectacor Chairman Ed Snider and Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko were named to Street & Smith’s Sports Business Journal’s 50 Most Influential People in Sports Business.

Changing Paradigm In Content Delivery A “Seismic Shift” For Booking Talent, Tours

O ur industry is based on the singular foundation of change. It is constantly morphing and evolving to meet the

needs of an ever-changing marketplace.

A current emerging dynamic is the expansion of the agency-venue relationship. In the recent past, this interaction tended to be limited to an agent communicating to a specific venue regarding a specific date/artist.

With the rise of a singular point of contact for multiple venues, which describes my position with Global Spectrum, a paradigm has been created where agents and managers now have the ability to discuss complete tours in an expedited manner.

With the benefit of streamlined communication, a growing number of agents are preparing to draft tour routings for artist management based on Global Spectrum venue availability. We are providing agents with the anchors on which to build their tours.

This procedural shift is leading to increased event opportunities within the industry for Global Spectrum-managed venues. In addition, the growing industry understanding of Global Spectrum’s ability to deliver a combination of localized and national marketing support for artists is separating our company from the venue industry as a whole.

As demonstrated recently with the successful Alan Jackson tour and the upcoming Rodney Atkins tour, our ability to provide timely, creative marketing support for talent through multiple media platforms places Global Spectrum in the forefront of venue management and the evolving industrial relationships. Agents and managers are now requesting input on marketing strategies in the infancy stages of tour planning; in particular, this dynamic is unfolding within non-primary markets.

The recent Josh Turner (country singer and actor) event at the Global Spectrum-managed Curry County Event Center in Clovis, NM, is an excellent case study example:

• Josh Turner’s agent at William Morris Endeavors (WME), who needed input identifying a market for his artist to play, contacted me. Turner had a contracted event in Texas and another in Las Vegas, but needed to fill the touring gap between the dates. After several conversations between Kevin Jolley, the venue’s General Manager, and our client in Clovis, we received permission to place an offer for the event.

• The marketing strategy devised by the Global Spectrum marketing team proved highly successful as the event broke venue sales records and registered as one of Josh Turner’s highest grossing dates.

• This success led to WME requesting a complete overview of the event, which was distributed to all their agents and focused on how to properly place artists in smaller markets.

A by-product of these events has been the discernable increased profile Global Spectrum has in the industry. The daily conversations between agents, managers, and my position, combined with the successes of our Global Spectrum marketing team, have collectively placed our organization in position to maximize the opportunities provided by the expanding agent-venue paradigm.

The “Global Way” uniquely places our General Managers and their respective staffs within a parameter that allows them to succeed in today’s entertainment industry. To the notable credit of our GMs and all Global Spectrum employees, this opportunity is being exploited to its fullest. We find ourselves on the cusp of a seismic shift in the touring industry and through the efforts of everyone, Global Spectrum is emerging as a dynamic leader in the touring industry. To book a Global Spectrum

venue, contact Brock Jones at 215.389.9450 or

This procedural shift is leading to increased event opportunities within the industry for Global Spectrum-managed venues.

CORPORATE NEWSWells Fargo Center, GM Matt Homan Named Finalists For Pollstar Awards

3

Honors and mentions are roll-ing in for Global Spectrum and the Wells Fargo Center as the internationally-renowned Phila-delphia venue wraps up another successful year.

The arena and its general manager, Matt Homan, are currently in the running for national recognition by

Pollstar magazine, a concert industry publication. Meanwhile, two other leading industry publications have ranked the Wells Fargo Center among the top 10 venues in the world.

“The Wells Fargo Center had a spectacular year in live entertainment,” said Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko. “We truly had something for everyone with so many of the world’s top performers. All of our shows did great business which shows that nothing can ever replace the live experience.”

In voting for the annual Pollstar Awards, the Wells Fargo Center is a nominee for 2012 Building of the Year, while Homan has been nominated for 2012 Arena Executive of the Year. Billboard Magazine has ranked the Wells Fargo Center as the ninth highest-grossing building in the world, while Venues Today has ranked the venue third in the U.S. and seventh in the world for highest grossing facilities.

Once again in 2012, the world’s greatest performers came to the Wells Fargo Center for landmark shows.

Both Madonna (August 28) and Barbara Streisand (October 8) opened their North American tours in front of sold-out crowds at the building, while

Peter Gabriel (September 20) did the same in opening the US portion of his tour. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band played two sold-out shows at the Wells Fargo Center

March 28-29), as did Justin Bieber (November 4 and December 5).

Other major performers who made stops at the building included Rush (October 12), Coldplay (July 5-6), Aerosmith (July 21) and LMFAO (June 30).

Carrie Underwood and Neil Young played the Wells Fargo Center in late November, and The Who kicked off December with a sold-out show.

The Dave Matthews Band also visited in December. In addition, 2013 is already shaping up to be a great year for concertgoers at the venue, with Lady Gaga, Pink, Rhianna, Maroon 5, and Rod Stewart already booked.

Homan, 35, was named the General Manager of the Wells Fargo Center in February 2011. Since then, he has helped the building continue to be

a premier destination for musical acts, as well as helping to attract other major events. Homan has enjoyed a career of more than 15 years with Global Spectrum.

Pollstar Awards will be announced at the 24th Annual Pollstar Awards at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Thursday, February 7.

New Era Tickets, the solution-driven, full-service ticketing subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor, recently signed ticketing service agreements with the Pueblo (NM) Convention Center and the Enid (OK) Event Center and Convention Hall.

New Era Tickets will be providing a customized ticketing solution for each venue, supported 24/7 by the New Era Tickets Client Advisor Team. The ticketing solution, powered by New Era Tickets’ sister company, Paciolan, will enable both organizations to control their ticketing, including their branding, customer data, and ticket service fees.

“New Era Tickets is well-suited to service all venues – from large stadiums to casino concert halls to convention centers,” said Mike Ruppert, Director of New Business Development for New Era Tickets.

Ovations Selected By Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall and Capitol Theatre Ovations Food Services was selected to provide their high-level of quality food presentation and customer service to Ruth Eckerd Hall and the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater, FL.

Ovations took over food and beverage operations on November 1 and has rolled out their Everything’s Fresh™ philosophy. Ovations plans to introduce a new bar experience, expanding on the theatre’s already successful wine bar, as well as new pre-show food offerings in the east café area with a uniquely branded Plā Bistro™ concept, and customize offerings to match each event’s theme.

“I have been visiting Ruth Eckerd Hall with my family since moving to Florida in 1991 and have enjoyed the entertainment choices provided by Ruth Eckerd Hall,” said Todd Wickner, Ovations Food Services Principal. “I am excited to deliver Ovations’ creative ideas and services with an already great operating facility.”

“I have had a long and successful friendship with the leaders of Comcast-Spectacor, Ovations’ parent company. They have managed to grow

successfully as an industry giant – without losing an impeccable, intimate touch with their clients. They will help turn another key corner in the constant re-invention of Ruth Eckerd Hall and the

Capitol Theatre,” said Zev Buffman, Ruth Eckerd Hall President/CEO.

Long-term plans include expanding the food and beverage areas at the Historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Clearwater. This will allow for more amenities at the Theater and the addition of a roof-top terrace overlooking the gulf. A similar expansion is expected shortly thereafter at Ruth Eckerd Hall, increasing the lobby space and allowing guests to mingle pre-show as well as enjoy increased food and beverage offerings tailored to each event.

Ruth Eckerd opened in 1983 and seats 2,180 guests for live entertainment events. The City of Clearwater and Ruth Eckerd Hall are currently revitalizing the historic Capitol Theatre, constructed in 1921. When completely rebuilt by fall of next year, the 720-seat theatre will become a venue at which Ruth Eckerd Hall will continue to present all genres of live entertainment.

Ovations Food Services was selected as official food and beverage provider at Sharonville Convention Center, a newly remodeled facility located in northern Cincinnati, OH.

The addition of Ovations is the last piece of the Center’s drastic makeover, a $26-million renovation that included an expansion of space, new partners, and a contemporary, aesthetically pleasing look. After such an extensive transformation, the center is eager to show off its new assets.

Bradley Muchnicki, a graduate of Pennsylvania Culinary Institute Le Cordon Bleu, is the head chef at the Center. His experience over the last nine years landed him the Regional Food & Beverage Excellence Award in 2006 and the Marriott International Food & Beverage Excellence Award in 2007.

“We want to offer first-class food and service to all of our guests,” said Jim Downton, Executive Director of the Sharonville Convention Center. “Ovations truly sets the bar high with their customized menu, excellent food, and unparalleled hospitality. I am highly confident

that the recent additions and features to this facility will provide substantial opportunities.”

Aside from the announcement of Ovations, the Center nearly doubled in size with an additional 65,000 sq. ft. Upgraded floor plans allow the center to offer 20,455 sq. ft. of exhibit hall space, equipped with 20-ft. ceilings; 15 state-of-the-art meeting rooms that can house anywhere from 50 to 700; and the spectacular Northern Lights Ballroom, accommodating up to 1,000 people, featuring 19-ft. ceilings and elegant, modern chandeliers. The Sharonville Convention Center provides a beautiful and contemporary location for meetings, conventions, banquets, trade shows, and public events.

Thanks to a new partnership between Paciolan and StubHub, sports fans of the University of North Carolina, Purdue University, the University of Texas, and the University of Tennessee are able to purchase and receive football game tickets from secondary ticketing website StubHub using their mobile phones.

Paciolan is partnering with StubHub to provide an end-to-end mobile delivery experience that makes it quick and easy for fans to purchase tickets on the secondary market, receive a new barcode for the ticket on their mobile phones, and then have it scanned from their phones at the gate for entrance to the game.

The mobile ticketing solution also allows fans to forward purchased tickets to a friend. And, unlike other mobile offerings, the Paciolan/StubHub solution allows the user to forward one or all tickets to others in their party via email without the need to arrive all together. In September, through its integration with Paciolan, StubHub announced that its mobile app for iPhone and iPad supports Apple’s Passbook.

The integration will give iPhone and iPad users another option to access mobile tickets.

Through Passbook, users have the convenience of keeping all of their boarding passes, event tickets, coupons, loyalty cards, and more stored in one place. The technology is simple for fans to

use. Once they purchase a ticket through StubHub’s Passbook-enabled app, they have the option to “add to passbook.”

Once the ticket is added to Passbook, fans can easily access their stored tickets to see when an upcoming event is taking place and where their seats are located.

Plus, Passbook is time and location enabled, so the ticket will appear on the device’s lock screen as a fan approaches the venue, ready for the ticket to be scanned at the gate.

Atlanta Falcons Renew With FanOne MarketingThe National Football League’s (NFL) Atlanta Falcons are participating in FanOne Marketing’s second league-wide season ticket renewal promotion. Through the promotion, FanOne offered all NFL teams the opportunity to partner with the organization to launch highly effective personalized season ticket holder renewal campaigns.

FanOne’s season ticket renewal solution incorporates personalized websites (PURLs) and automated behavior-based communications. By giving each ticket holder an individualized online renewal experience, the use of PURLs have historically increased engagement and online renewal rates, while also reducing customer confusion, service calls, and unnecessary collateral costs.

“FanOne has been creating Season Ticket renewal PURLs for a few years, so we know they are not only engaging, but also extremely effective,” said Mike Ruppert, Director of New Business Development for FanOne Marketing. “One particular organization achieved a 5000+ percent ROI through last year’s promotion, so we know they will be excited to participate again.”

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, NJ, recently rolled out two self-serve ticketing kiosks provided by New Era Tickets, the technology-driven, full-service ticketing subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor.

The kiosks, implemented and serviced by New Era Tickets, and powered by Paciolan, New Era’s sister company, provide 24-hour, 7-days-a-week box office coverage – without staffing.

The kiosks feature customized Borgata branding and are capable of servicing will-call pickup or ticket purchases in less than two minutes. Currently located on the Borgata’s concourse level and outside the existing box office, the kiosks are also anticipated to reduce ticketing lines and delays during peak times.

“The kiosks are great for supporting organizations with or without a freestanding box office,” said Ron Friedman, Director of IT at New Era Tickets. “They are very low maintenance and only require occasional software updates and ticket stock replacement after every 1,000 tickets.”

Representatives from Global Spectrum-managed convention centers throughout the country hit the pavements of Washington, DC, (October 2-4) to conduct the first annual Global Spectrum National Sales Mission.

A group of 12 Global Spectrum representatives from different venues participated as reps for their own venue, but sold one common theme: “Global Spectrum – Exceptional Venues for Successful Events!”

Those participating were: Julie Davinroy, St. Charles Convention Center; Joe Capitanelli, St.Charles Convention Center; Shura Garnett, St. Charles Convention Center; Linda Persico, Conference Center Niagara Falls; Gretchen Battson, Duke Energy Convention Center; Justin Markle, Duke Energy Convention Center; Lori Coyne, Greater Richmond Convention Center; Amy Vicelli, MassMutual Center; Charles Drago, MassMutual Center; Stephanie Anderson, Miami Beach Convention Center; Cyndi Lorenzen; Iowa Events Center; and Jill Hericks, Century Center.

The group had 16 pre-set appointments and 27 cold calls with various association meeting planners in the nation’s capital to educate them on who Global Spectrum is and what they do. Additional activities included breakfast delivery to a meeting planners’ group at Experient, lunch at Chef Geoff’s with industry speaker Joan Eisenstodt, and a reception at the Hotel Palomar’s “Urbana.”

This sales mission was part of the Convention Center’s National Marketing Plan, which serves to increase the exposure of all Global Spectrum-managed convention centers through industry events, advertising, communication, and database management.

Global Spectrum-managed University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, AZ, was awarded the prestigious IAVM Venue Excellence Award for Stadiums in 2012. Stadiums were rated on operational excellence, teambuilding, as well as professional development, safety and security, and service to the community. As the recipient of the award, the University of Phoenix Stadium demonstrated how it excels in each of the criteria and delivers a positive customer experience on a regular basis at the facility.

“It is always rewarding to be recognized by your peers and the annual IAVM Excellence Award is certainly one of the top honors in our industry,” said Peter C. Sullivan, Global Spectrum Regional Vice President and General Manager of the University of Phoenix Stadium. “It is through the hard work and dedication of Global Spectrum, AZSTA, Arizona Cardinals, and Fiesta Bowl staffs, along with other stadium

partners, that this award was made possible, and we are honored to be

recognized by the IAVM for our achievements.”

The University of Phoenix Stadium is coming off another successful year of major events, including two U.S National Soccer matches. The stadium will have the opportunity to showcase its operational excellence yet again when the Super Bowl returns to venue in 2015.

President/CEO, Arizona Sports & Tourism AuthorityOver the course of the last eight years, Global Spectrum has been an intricate part of the many successes achieved here at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

Under Global Spectrum’s management the facil-ity has hosted major events, including the Super

Bowl in 2008, with another scheduled for 2015, U2, the Rolling Stones, Kenny Chesney, six Tostitos Fiesta Bowls, two BCS National Championships games, multiple U.S. National Soccer Team matches, and, of course, Arizona Cardinals NFL football games.

During this time we have received very positive feedback from both event producers and patrons complimenting the customer service and professionalism demonstrated by Global Spectrum and its venue partners.

In addition to booking and executing successful large scale events, Global Spectrum has also delivered on its promise of scheduling non-traditional stadium events, including major consumer shows, corporate/social functions, vehicle sales events, and graduations, all of which contributed to Global Spectrum’s financial success at University of Phoenix Stadium.

As part of its management responsibilities, Global Spectrum has also played an important role in the Shared Interest Strategies adopted by the Arizona Sports & Tourism Authority (AZSTA), the Arizona Cardinals, and the Fiesta Bowl.

Through these strategies and the hard work of building stakehold-ers, the facility has been able to increase event activity and add significantly to the overall financial performance of the facility.

AZSTA is very satisfied with the performance of Global Spectrum, especially during recent economic times, and would highly recom-mend their services to potential clients.

MBCC Turns Profit For 2012 Fiscal YearThe Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC), Miami Beach, FL, accomplished a rare feat done only one other time in the venue’s long history. The MBCC ended its 2012 fiscal year with a final net profit of $72,444 against total gross Revenues topping $18.8 million.

The milestone was reached through significant increases in gross revenue and decreases in total expense over what was budgeted. As is the case with the vast majority of convention centers, the venue had budgeted for a net loss of $990,657. The $72,000 net profit resulted in an impressive positive variance of over one million dollars. The staff was also able to top their internal goal of $1.3 million in business booked and held during the year.

“The financial numbers we finished our fiscal year with are the result of the hard work of so many in this community,” said Global Spectrum’s Bob Balsam, General Manager of the MBCC. “Our Global Spectrum team, in close partnership with the City of Miami Beach, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and along with the many Chambers, Associations, and local organizations, all contributed in ending our year by reaching a very uncommon and extremely exciting final result.”

Colonial Life Arena Celebrates 10 YearsThe Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC, celebrated its 10th anniversary of entertaining fans with an array of concerts and family shows. To commemorate the past 10 years, Colonial Life Arena hosted a month-long celebration in November with several special events.

The 10-year anniversary celebration kicked off with a 10K Chair Dare (November 2), which challenged three teams of four to sit in 10,000 seats in the arena’s lower bowl. The teams had six hours to compete for the first place prize of

tickets to every non-athletic event for a year. Colonial Life Arena employees refereed the event to ensure each team had only one “sitter” at a time and that no seat was skipped. The winning team completed the challenge in less than three hours.

To wrap up the 10-year celebrations, University of South Carolina Gamecock basketball joined the festivities as Men’s Basketball hosted Morgan State (November 16), and Women’s Basketball took on Clemson (November 18). Both games included giveaways for a select number of fans and a cake-cutting ceremony that featured the University of South Carolina’s Athletics Director, Ray Tanner, and Global Spectrum’s Lexie Boone, General Manager of the Colonial Life Arena. Alan Jackson Tour Marks First Effort For Global Spectrum PresentsThrough the efforts of Brock Jones, Global Spectrum’s Vice President of Booking, the new Global Spectrum Presents promotional entity packaged five Alan Jackson tour dates through CAA for a concert series presentation at five Global Spectrum arenas throughout the country.

Jackson performed at the Global Spectrum Presents concerts in October and November at Glens Falls Civic Center, Glens Falls, NY; Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell, Lowell, MA; Iowa Events Center, Des Moines, IA; Sears Centre Arena, Hoffman Estates, IL; and the Sun National Bank Center, Trenton, NJ.

The concert series hinged on Global Spectrum’s effort and teamwork from the very first day.

Following the minute Jones booked the shows, five Global Spectrum marketers representing each building, Chris Lawrence at the Glens Falls Civic Center, Mike Soriano at Tsongas Center, Viki Arias at the Iowa Events Center, Erin Bilton at Sears Centre Arena, and Diana Zanetto at Sun National Bank Center, collaboratively approached CAA, one of the country’s top talent agencies, with a list of promotional ideas that included third parties, charities, radio promotions, and social media initiatives.

CAA took the list and after discussing with Jackson’s manager, approved several ideas each marketer could then take into their

market to help the ticket-selling process.

Among those were a radio/fan announce promotion, roadie for a day promotion, a signed set list, and use of Alan Jackson’s backstage dressing room during the show.

The five marketers hosted a weekly conference call to discuss ticket sales, brainstorm new ideas, and help with any issues a market was facing. After the call, they updated CAA with a quick list of where each building stood that week. Global Spectrum Presents had its last show at Sun National Bank Center on November

15, and now the marketers can be proud of the way they worked as a team and represented Global Spectrum Presents for the first time.

“We knew Global Spectrum Presents was an extremely viable new entity when it was created earlier this year,” Jones said. “The results of our first concert series and the incredible marketing efforts by the Global Spectrum marketing team certainly proved that everything we envisioned became a reality. Global Spectrum Presents is going to be an extremely important event and financial resource for many of our Global Spectrum-managed venues.”

Jones noted that the success of the Alan Jackson tour has opened additional opportunities for Global Spectrum Presents with both CAA and WME (William Morris Endeavor).

Eric Church Concert Sets Record At Comcast Arena At Everett

More than 2,500 people turned out during a week’s worth of activities surrounding the grand re-opening of the Global Spectrum-managed Convention Hall in Enid, OK.

The turnout pleased Convention Hall general manager Keller Taylor. “Our goal was to create the opportunity, via the right mix of events during the Grand Re-Opening Week, for the community to experience the historic facility for the first time, again,” said Keller Taylor, General Manager.

“I believe we accomplished this through the committed and loyal management staff here in Enid, along with the support of Barry Strafacci, Global Spectrum, Regional Vice President; Dean Dennis, General Manager of the Global Spectrum-managed Owensboro, KY, Convention Center; Maria Rainsdon, General Manager of the Global Spectrum-managed Clovis (NM) Civic Center; and Eric Copeland, Executive Chef at the Global Spectrum-managed Pueblo Convention Center, Pueblo, CO,” Taylor added.

The crown jewel event of the week was the Community Open House (November 18), which followed Enid’s annual

Veterans’ parade. After a short ceremony on the Convention Hall steps featuring a living history performance of the Grand Opening in 1921, the doors opened and over 1,500 area residents came in to see the renovations and enjoy free hamburgers and hot dogs.

Convention Hall is Enid’s premier conference and meeting facility, featuring the 11,000-sq. ft. Grand Ballroom, a 3,000-sq. ft. Junior Ballroom, more than 5,500 sq. ft. of meeting rooms, and a 14-person board room. The neighboring Global Spectrum-managed Enid Events Center is scheduled for completion in May.

Iowa’s Premier Beer, Wine And Food Expo Sets New RecordFor the fifth year, Global Spectrum staff at the Iowa Events Center produced Iowa’s Premier Beer, Wine, and Food Expo in conjunction with Ovations Food Services and Hy-Vee, the presenting sponsor. More than 8,000 people attended the two-day event.

The event offered a melting pot for culinary arts fans to sip, taste, and shop their way from wine and beer distributor samplings and selling their products to wine cork jewelry, kitchen gadgets, cooking demonstrations, wine and food pairings, and more.

Highlights of the event included Blue Moon Founder and Brewmaster Keith Villa discussing the history of Blue Moon and sampling new Blue Moon products not yet available on store shelves; Dr. BBQ, Ray Lampe, demonstrating recipes for Smoked Pork Chili and BBQ Ribs; Sean Petrie from Riedel Crystal demonstrating how the choice of wine glass affects the wine drinking experience, and more.

“This is our event. Our staff works diligently with our partners to discuss all opportunities to enhance the experience for our vendors, attendees, and volunteers,” said Chris Connolly, Global Spectrum’s General Manager of the Iowa Events Center. “With another record-breaking year in the books, we look forward to producing the expo for many years to come.”

October was one of the busiest months on record for the St. Charles Convention Center.

The total building occupancy was 73 percent, which tied the record set in October 2009. Industry standards hold that 75 percent occupancy is considered 100 percent occupancy because down time is required to change room sets, which translates into the venue being 100 percent completely occupied for the entire month.

In addition, October was the highest revenue-grossing month in building history with a total of $724,000, beating last November’s previous record by $11,000.

Mr. Frank RussoSenior Vice President, Business DevelopmentGlobal Spectrum

Hello Frank, and greetings from Oklahoma.

As you are likely aware, we are enjoying the grand opening of our new and repurposed Convention Hall here in Enid.

It has been an overwhelming success and an achievement many considered impossible. I never doubted the potential or the end result, which is why I am writing. This entire endeavor was successful because of our relationship with Global Spectrum. From our first meeting, through every challenging step of struggling to bring Enid into the modern era, the Global Spectrum team has been indispensable. I cannot summon adequate words to sufficiently express my enthusiasm for the work your team is doing in Enid. I am thrilled beyond my wildest expectation and cannot begin to adequately describe what Global Spectrum means to Enid, OK. We have enjoyed one exciting event after another, all under very difficult conditions due to the final stages of construction, but your team completed each event flawlessly.

General Manager Taylor Keller has been a rock star here and has produced immeasurable dividends through his work ethic, commitment to community and a flawless personality of customer service. He has devoted endless hours and a tireless commitment to excellence, which has established Convention Hall as THE centerpiece of Northwest Oklahoma. I can’t even imagine how extraordinary we will feel when the new events center opens. I also wish to highlight Maria Rainsdom’s (General Manager of the Clovis Civic Center) contributions. She traveled from Las Cruces, NM, to assist in our opening and like Keller she shines brighter than anything our community could imagine. Please know that I am immensely, and quite truly amazed by their combined efforts. You have two world-beaters in these two. Their supporting staff, Chef Eric Copeland, and all the new hires in Enid have launched a new era in our city for which I submit my most emphatic appreciation. I was overtly convinced from day one, that Global Spectrum would build the right team for the right moment in Enid. Such has now been overwhelming proven.

The very best part for me? I have friendships with Barry Strafacci and Dean Dennis that I place in the most cherished category. Thank you for making our city a much better place to live. I hope you can attend the grand unveiling of the events center early next year, such will be another, even more grand event.

Lastly, thank you Frank, for believing in Enid. Nothing could have happened had Global Spectrum taken a pass on us. We owe you more than we can repay.

Baumgartner’s Jump Nets $63 Million For Brands, According To Front Row Analytics Data

p Pocono International Raceway, the “Tricky Triangle.”

The Potomac Nationals selected Front Row Marketing Services to secure the naming rights for the club’s new state-of-the-art facility to be built in Northern Virginia, according to team owner Art Silber. It is Front Row’s first naming rights engagement in the Washington, DC area.

“We are incredibly impressed with the background and experience that Front Row gives us and believe that they will lead us to what will be a new standard

in the marketing of sponsorship partnerships,” said Silber. “Front Row recognizes the unique opportunity we provide a partner with hundreds of thousands of cars a day passing us on I-95, and a unique brand of baseball that has seen us send over 400 players to the major leagues.”

“This project involves many great organizations and is in one of the most affluent and high growth counties in the United States,” said Chris Lencheski, President of Front Row Marketing Services. “We are excited to be a part of a truly unique public/private partnership involving the passion of professional minor league baseball entertainment and themed retail, all rolled into one sports and entertainment ecosystem not seen in the greater Washington, DC area or any where else in Minor League baseball.”

“This project with Art Silber will give us the opportunity to take the best practices we have learned in selling more naming rights strategies

than any other organization by volume and I could not be more pleased to have Bryan Furey and his team here at Front Row leading the sales and marketing effort,” added Lencheski.

The 7,000 capacity stadium is part of a $70-million public private partnership which will be located at Stonebridge at the Potomac Town Center, a retail, office and residential development located adjacent to I-95 in Woodbridge, VA with over 55 retail stores and 500 residential units. The Virginia Department of Transportation will invest approximately $15 million to build a new parking structure with 1,200 spaces to serve as a meeting spot for commuters, and the cost of the stadium is $30 million. Potomac is an affiliate of the Washington Nationals, and the team currently plays their home games at Pfitzner Stadium in Northern Virginia averaging 2,953 fans for their 65 home games played in 2012.

Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner’s jump did not just make him an Internet sensation, it made him one of the most widely-valued special event participants on the planet, according to the data analysis of Front Row Analytics. The record jump pulled in almost $63 million in sponsor value, not just for primary brand partner Red Bull, but also for Zenith watches, Riedel Communications and Cypres Skydiving devices, all of which were part

of Baumgartner’s successful leap.

“Given the timing of the jump on a crowded Sunday afternoon, it is amazing how much exposure the record quickly received,” said Eric Smallwood, Front Row Analytics Senior Vice President. “While many focused just on Red Bull and their partnership, his secondary sponsors also pulled in some record dollars, again showing that timing and brand placement is everything when looking for exposure.”

FR Analytics did their detailed analysis by looking at the branding exposure from Felix’s Space Suit, space capsule, lift crane, support team clothing, spectators’ apparel from the live broadcast on YouTube and Discovery Channel in the United States, Canada and over 200 countries outside of North America. FR Analytics also projected the value that will be received from all other exposure coming from the live jump.

The overall value for Red Bull is projected to be $48,116,333 from the branding exposure. Zenith Watches will receive an estimated $12,401,300. Secondary sponsors including Cypres and Riedel, bringing in $1.5 million and $216,000, respectively.

Pocono International Raceway, Inc. announced a new partnership with Front Row Marketing Services, making it the Raceway’s agency of record for commercial rights, corporate partnership development, and sales opportunities. Pocono is the long-running largest and most innovative independent racing facility in North America, and in 2013 will host two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekends as well as the return of Indy Car racing for the first time since1989.

“Pocono Raceway has taken huge steps in bringing the Raceway to the forefront of the motorsports industry in America, stated Raceway President and CEO, Brandon Igdalsky. We have completely repaved the track, added industry leading safety features, increased fan amenities and built a three megawatt solar farm making Pocono Raceway the largest solar powered sports facility in the world. Adding Front Row Marketing Services is another step in forging Pocono Raceway’s continued success in the future,” added Igdalsky.

“Arguably the home of NASCAR in the Northeast with the largest proximity to major urban centers and their consumers, the Pocono Raceway brand offers corporate marketers decades of consumer authenticity very few tracks can speak to,” said Chris Lencheski, President of Front Row Marketing Services. “Our group is very excited to become a larger part of the success of Pocono, the potential our Analytics division has discovered coupled with Front Row’s gravitas in the northeast marketplace will ensure a long fruitful partnership.”

Jason Enge has been promoted to Assistant General Manager of the General Motors Centre in Oshawa, ON. He previously was the Global Spectrum-managed venue’s Food and Beverage Manager.

Enge began working at the 6,100-seat General Motors

Centre in 2006 as the Food and Beverage Manager and then transitioned to Global Spectrum when the company assumed management of the GM Centre in June 2008.

He has been in the food and beverage, and sports and entertainment industries for over 10 years. Over the last four years, Enge’s high standards and strong leadership abilities have been instrumental in building a solid food and beverage team within the General Motors Centre; one of few Global Spectrum venues with an in-house Food and Beverage operation.

Jason and his team are constantly raising the level of services and pushing the envelope to be at the top of the latest Food and Beverage trends. Under Enge’s guidance the GM Centre’s food and beverage team have expanded their roles to include acting as the exclusive caterers to the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology and the Regent Theatre.

Enge is currently participating in Global Spectrum’s “How you Growin’?” leadership program, working with his mentor, Shane Caldwell, General Manager of Mullins Center in Amherst, MA, and will be attending year two of the IAVM’s Venue Management School at Oglebay this summer. “Jason has worked extremely hard over the past four years to earn this opportunity,” said Vince Vella, General Manager of the GM Centre. “Jason has a do-whatever-it-takes attitude, an uncompromising work ethic, and exhibits all of the essential qualities necessary to be a future leader in this company.”
