Bible our lives would not

be fulfilled.

Thank you to Ruan and Joshua

for bringing this very special

message to our learners. We

are sure they will remember

this lesson for a long time to

come!

On the first Monday of

December the learners of The

Gateway School were treated

to an amazing show. At first

the learners had no idea what

to expect as a huge rumbling

noise could be heard

throughout the hall. All of a

The guests on the

Annerie’s Big Surprize

On 29 November 2012 Annelize Harding and her family organized a

Christmas party for all our learners. Father Christmas and his elves

handed out sweets and presents under a beautiful Christmas tree in front

of the classes. Thank you very much to Annelize and her family for taking

this initiative spoiling our learners.

me”

Page 2 The Gateway School Newsletter

On Wednesday 7 November 2012, the

senior learners attended the final disco of

the year. Dancing to music seemed to be

forgotten as the learners chatted and

showed off the new Nelson Mandela notes

to each other. Gangnam Style and some of

DJ Ossewa’s tunes finally got the learners

onto the floor and

everyone had a

great time.

The learners participated in the annual

swimming gala held on Friday 9 November

2012. The Gateway School came second in

the gala, but the learners are already work-

ing hard to improve their times and tech-

niques and next year we are sure the trophy

will be ours!

RECYCLING PRIVATE EYES

Welcome back to all The Gateway School's learners and their

parents.

Its early in the year and the Recycling Station is already

a very busy environment: From the first day of school

dedicated, hard-working learners started bringing

recyclables to school. The number of students involved

with sorting has doubled so as to ease the workload.

We are immensely proud of the consistent growth in our

school's Recycling Programme.

"Learners, 10 floating Recycling Trophies are up for grabs at

our weekly Assembly” Bring those recyclables; you might be the one to receive

the next Trophy!

Remember our Recycling Motto is: RECYCLE IT!

HEAD BOY: STEPHAN KEMPEN: “Hello maats! Dit is vir my baie lekker hier, by The Gateway Skool. Ek hoop julle is ook gelukkig hier by

krieket en Jacques Kallis is my grootste held.

karre. Vandat ek my motorfietslisensie het ry ek orals rond. Ek het baie stokpertjies waarvan my hoenderboerdery en my liefde vir spinnekoppe die belangrikste is. Ek

Ek verkoop my vars plaaseiers aan my oumas en my tannies.

Ek het ook twee baie oulike honde, Lolla en Stumpie, en as my sussie by die universiteit is dan kyk ek ook na haar kat Felix. Ek is seker hy hou nou meer van my as

My tweede grootste liefde is my Samsung Galaxy Tablet.

Mag julle almal

ook ‘n mooi jaar hê! “

KEFENTSE THEKISO: “ My name is Kefentse Thekiso. I was elected to be a

leader at the school. My job is to make sure that kids do not fight and that kids do not

CHRISTMAS AT THE GATEWAY SCHOOL

Page 7 Newsletter Title

The Gateway School, celebrated Christmas on Thursday

29 November 2012. A Christmas Play was presented in

the morning and there was also an evening rendition. 515

parents, families, friends and children filled the school hall

and were entertained by the Christmas narrative performed

by the learners and staff

of The Gateway School.

We trust that the true

meaning of Christmas

was experienced by one

and all.

We wish you all a

blessed 2013!

May Jesus be the centre

of our lives!

PANTOMIME

This

year’s

Camp Footprints was

a huge success, the learners

enjoyed outdoor activities in

various groups and even had the

privilege of meeting one of the

Kaizer Chiefs soccer players Tefu

Mashamaite.

The learners who were invited to Camp

Footprints also had the opportunity of

watching “Jack and the Beanstalk” at the

Nelson Mandela Civic Theatre. The

learners laughed so much at all the

jokes their stomachs

ached. Each learner

received a goodie bag

and cold drink.
