Engrade averages grades based on total points. Therefore an assignment worth 100 points will effect student averages much more than an assignment worth 10 points.Want to set up categories? In your grade book, hover over options and click on Grade Settings

Name your categories, weight them if you want, and drop the lowest grade in a category if you want.

Once selected, they will appear below the drop-down menu with checked checkboxes. Upon submission of your new assignment, the assignment will be created in all the classes that you selected.Lets talk Attaching Standards to Assignments. If you attach standards you can see averages of the standards. How great is that. You know which standards the students are mastering and which ones still need a little more instruction. Attaching multiple standards to an assignment can skew the results.Creating an assignment additional settingsCheck or uncheck the additional settings at the bottom of the page:Allow students to see this assignmentallows students to view this assignment from their student accounts.Add this assignment to class Calendarplaces the assignment on the class calendar.Add this assignment to class Discussionsallows students and parents to post discussion topics to a discussion board for this assignment.Add this assignment to class Turn-insallows students to turn-in assignments online from their Engrade student accounts.
