PRESIDENT’S REPORT

2019 sees another year of interesting events in place for WWOKR.We are trying to run events on most months and our club members are trying to make them interesting, unique and in many regions of greater Sydney. Most Club events are already organised , or well into the planning stage. When you read this some of our members will have enjoyed Australia Day at Parramatta Park joining hundreds of other old car enthusiasts. As you may read elsewhere in the magazine in more detail, we are starting with a visit to the Southern Highlands, attending the Berrima Rally in February. Then in May to the South Coast for the Heritage Weekend. I would like to encourage all club members to read our magazine thoroughly and see if there is an event near you. We would love to see you, even if your car is not yet on the road. Please contact the co-ordinators of the event to let them know if you will be attending.

Just a reminder that our club meetings are open to all club members. Meetings are held at the beginning of February, April, June, August, October AGM and December. Some of these are held on Sundays and some Friday evenings. We are trialling meetings in June and August on the first Sunday, for a day out, so the members with work commitments on Fridays can attend. Please check the magazine to see where and when the meetings will be held. Again please contact the host or me as to whether you can attend. On a sad note, one of our wonderful club members, Val Mitchell, passed away in a pedestrian accident just before Christmas. I send my condolences and those of our club to John and the family.I look forward to seeing many of you out and about in your Historic, or modern car this year, and I look forward to catching up with you at our next meeting on Friday Feb 1st at the Rogerson’s starting at 7.30pm. The venue is Woolooware Shores, Alexander Avenue Taren Point.Happy Motoring,

John Farmer

This has then broken a piece out of the hub I have tried to dismantle the wheel centre, but it doesn’t want to come apart. What is the trick? I thought about machining a new centre and sleeving the hub, but I was wondering if anyone would have a rear hub they could sell? REPLY:I used to buy my tyres and tubes from Dave Stewart at Ingleburn but I believe the business is closed. The parent supplier for Dave’s business was Antique Tyre Supplies in West Heidelberg, Melbourne. When Dave suggested, they’ve shipped tyres to me for a vintage racing car.Worth a try,Stephen
