MONDAY'S MORNING MEAL. THE LORD INSTRUCTS THE TWELVE

MESSENGERS IN WRITING AND READING AND LAMECH'S BROTHERS IN THE

WORKING OF METALS. ENOCH IS APPOINTED HIGH PRIEST. THE LORD'S

ADMONITIONS; HIS BLESSING AND FAREWELL TO THE CHILDREN OF THE

    HEIGHT

As on Sunda& and on the Sabbath, also on 'onda& a mornin( meal blessed b& Abedam

    was ta)en which Seth a(ain arran(ed*

"* After the mornin( meal Abedam summoned the well+)nown twel!e messen(ers and

tau(ht them to en(ra!e with pointed (ra!ers onto stone tablets words b& correspondin(

si(ns and immediatel& read them* And He bade them teach also all the other brothers, if

not the en(ra!in(, then at least the readin(*

    * Then He also told them when inspired b& the spirit to record e!er& Word (one forth

from His mouth, as well as e!er&thin( one or the other had said in His presence- all this

should be preser!ed for the future b& the leaders of the main tribes*

%* The collection was to be entitled WI$$e Hol& .oo) or the Wars of /eho!ah0- but the

wars should form the latter part*

1* Thus He dealt within a short time with the twel!e* Then He told /ared to rise with Him

and to(ether with Him accompan& the maiden to his house- He also told the other

patriarchs to follow Him to His house which partl& belon(ed to /ared*

2* And the& all stood up and followed Him*

3* In /ared4s house He said to 5ura: 0.ehold, '& little dau(hter, it is (ood to be here- for

this is '& house, bein( a house of purest lo!e which dwells in /ared, 6noch, 'ethuselah

and '& 7amech who has 8ust recei!ed one of '& dear dau(hters for his wife out of '&

hand, as well as his brothers who are the husbands of their sisters and are of a chasteheart*

9* 0Thus &ou, too, will remain here until &our spirit is full& matured, when I shall call &ou

from the earth and &ou will enter into the realm of true, eternal life*0

    * Then He turned to /ared and said to him: 0.e as wise a father to this child whom &ou

    recei!ed directl& from '& hand as &ou are to 6noch, 'ethuselah and 7amech* Thus,

whate!er &ou will do to this '& dau(hter in '& name, will be perfect- howe!er, she shall

    not be familiar with a man until I e;plicitl& tell &ou so*Amen."

These words of 6noch set Adam4s mind a(ain at rest- but the stran(er who had

pre!iousl& been tal)in( stepped up to 6noch and said to him:

"* 06noch, &our words appeal to me* ?ou are a true teacher and prophet- for &ou preach

    lo!e*

    * 0And lo!e is the reason that has led me and, as &ou can see, another brother to this

    place*

%* 0For we do not want to ar(ue before &ou who ha!e been filled with the spirit of lo!e,

but we want to probe this !er& spirit of lo!e within &ou as thou(h it were un)nown to us-

and once we ha!e probed it we do not want to ta)e it from &ou but lea!e it with &ou in all

    its fullness*

1* 0.ehold, this is the reason wh& we came here* + 6!en the sun rises and sets brin(in(

about da& and ni(ht on the earth- but in the sun itself, which is a far (reater world than

the earth, there is no ni(ht, since the sun is li(ht throu(hout*

2* Thus it seems to be the case also with man- when he is not probed throu(h and

throu(h in his lo!e he is li)e a planet on which da& and ni(ht alternate*

3* 0.ut once he is probed in his heart, the heart turns into a sun and henceforth it will no

lon(er be ni(ht in his soul*

9* Thus also a bride(room probes his bride and she in turn the bride(room- thereb&

their lo!e becomes pro(ressi!el& more radiant, so that the& reco(niDe and lo!e one

    another more and more*

    * 0And when their lo!e is full& ablaDe the& seiDe each other, fore!er throu(h and throu(h

    but onl& a little *+ the li(ht +- howe!er, since &ou as a chief ser!ant b& !irtue of &our lo!e

for Him and out of this for all the brothers ha!e been endowed with the most li(ht,

    * This is the point di!idin( us *+ the li(ht: I sa& it within m&self that also the man under

    8ud(ment is ali!e- howe!er, he li!es a life under compulsion whereas the free, un8ud(ed

man li!es an absolute, uncoerced life*

%* 0Thus a life under 8ud(ment is a life of sin, but an un8ud(ed life a life of lo!e- hence

there is no death, but merel& a difference *+ the @ualit& of life*

1* 07oo), this is what I thin)- but the brother here sa&s:

    2* 0A life under 8ud(ment is b& no means a life, but merel& a crassest death> For a life

    under 8ud(ment is li)e a thrown stone which, thou(h fl&in( throu(h the air li)e a bird,

does this onl& as lon( as the pro8ectile force carries it alon(* nce this ceases, it

promptl& falls down to earth completel& inert, whereas the bird can mo!e freel& *+ all

    directions*4

3* 0Indeed, he e!en adds: 45resumin( the stone had been thrown with such force as to

compel it to mo!e on fore!er *+ the endlessness of space, the @uestion arises as to

    whether the stone owin( to this e!erlastin( fli(ht is ali!e + or ne!ertheless completel&

    dead*4

9* 07oo), dear 6noch, this is therefore our crac) of li(ht which we as) &ou to rectif&, but

in a manner that it will be sufficientl& clear to each of us what &ou want to tell us about

    it*0

    * Here 6noch pondered in his heart without, howe!er, findin( an answer to his @uestion*For, probin( one sentence he found it completel& correct, + and doin( it with the second,
