Tribute To John De-Mathew From His First Wife.

Thank you all for coming today to show your love for my husband. I don’t have to explain how John was to anyone in this room. Everyone knows he was a great man and a phenomenon musician. It only took meeting him once to remember him forever. He is and always will be my best friend and there will continually be a hole in my heart that will never heal. John was my soul-mate. Plain and simple.

All it took was one look and I knew he was the man I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. He didn’t get the rest of my life, but I got the whole of his. Our time together may have been cut short, but the happiness we shared together, will last a lifetime. I will mourn the loss of my husband, my best friend, my soul-mate, my everything. But, I will find comfort in the knowledge that he loves me to the very end.

John always said, “God has a plan. We have to accept it and go with it.” We don’t know what God’s plan is, but it’s something special and that’s why He needed the heart that’s as big as the world and open to everyone.

I will miss John until the day God calls me home and so will our children. But we will never feel alone because John has left behind a love that cannot be broken.

Until we are together again, I’m not complete. I’m merely here, waiting my turn.

Thank you for helping me find love Forever. You have left me a piece of you in our children. To the greatest husband & most wonderful friend.

Tribute To John De-Mathew From His Second Wife.

I had the opportunity and rare privilege of being the wife and partner of the wonderful, loving, kind and God-fearing man.

Life could not have been better than that because I was living every woman’s dreams. The best of everything was at my disposal whether I asked for it or not. We had our problems like every family but making up and resolving our issues was magical.

I was blessed with the best husband and father to my children and his name was John Ng’ang’a Mwangi AKA John De- Mathew.

My husband was such a wonderful man. I’m not sure I can really express just how much I will miss him. Not only was he a wonderful husband, but a wonderful father, musician, best friend, colleague ...and so much more.

John’s ability to make everyone feel comfortable, secure and loved were his greatest strengths- He was a man of the people. For all the time we have been together, I look back over those joyful moments with so much happiness.

He was my soul mate and my inspiration – my steadfast rock that helped me through thick and thin. John supported and loved us all, and was always there to help navigate through life’s challenges.

John may be in heaven now, but I know he is looking down at us with a big smile on his face saying, “Forge ahead – make the best of life – and I’ll see you soon.

I love you. Always & Forever.

Goodbye, My Dear, Sweet Husband.

The Eulogy of John Mwangi Ng’ang’a (De’ Mathew)

Tribute To John De- Mathew From His Children.

Dads are someone to look up to, someone to follow, someone to admire, someone to be proud of and someone to brag about, someone to hold, someone to learn from and someone to respect, someone to listen to and someone to talk to, someone to try and impress and, someone, most of all, with whom to share everything this wonderful life has to offer.

We are incredibly grateful and happy that we can stand here today and tell you that we have had all this and much, much more with our Dad. We have been blessed to have had the great De- Mathew as our Dad.

Dad, we love you for an infinite number of reasons. We feel so blessed to have you as our father and we are thankful for the wonderful life you have given us. We celebrate you: a magnificent man, a loyal, loving husband, a devoted father, and a true friend. Please know that our list of gratitude is endless and will continue to grow with each passing day.

Thank you for providing us with a never-ending sense of physical safety and emotional security whenever we are with you.

Thank you for showing us what is means to be a good man, a great Musician, an extraordinary husband, and an outstanding father.

To say we loved my Dad would be an understatement - and to say we are going to miss him would be an even greater understatement.

We love him and we will miss him – especially when his music is played – but I’m so thankful for the years God graciously gave us with him and for the knowledge that one day, because we serve the same Lord, we will see him again.

Dad has overcome. He has finished the race. Trib

Tribute To John De-Mathew From Brothers And Sisters.

Friends, loved ones and family -

It is an honour and privilege for us to pay tribute today to a very special person, our brother John Ng’ang’a Mwangi AKA John De- Mathew.

John was remarkable in so many ways. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people during his time here with us, as evident by so many of you here today.

As we began to reach out for the right words to express our thoughts about our brother John, We remembered the many valued and meaningful roles that he played throughout his life.

First and foremost we see him as the family man. He loved his family profoundly. He was a devoted husband / son / father / uncle / brother and friend. Looking back, he was always a family man.

John took all of the roles in his life to heart and he strove to honour, support, and guide and most importantly, protect his family. He was at his happiest when he was surrounded by his family - even during those inevitable tough times that life has a way of throwing at you. His devotion to his family was the foundation of his actions - the anchor that defined and shaped his life.

As we turn the next page of John’s life, we see John - the friend. He was a good friend to so many! He could be counted on and depended on always. Whether you needed simple advice, an empathetic ear, a shoulder to lean on; if all you wanted was to chill and pass the time, - he was your man; ready, steadfast, willing and a man full of fun.

As I look out at the faces in this beautiful congregation, I see many family members and friends and I know that you too will miss the friendship that John brought into your lives. I’m sure you all will remember him in your very own special way.

Another page is turned and we see him as a respected citizen. He shared his music with anyone who would listen, he worked hard and consistently and he remained a student of life. My brother never stopped learning especially through his loving wife and children. He never sat back and became complacent. He led by example as he mentored his nephews and nieces and his own children in a way that anyone of them can say that he was an inspiration in their lives.

What we find most memorable is the role that spirituality played. Our brother John loved his God. We all knew him as a very private but loving man whose quiet faith guided his actions, words and deeds. He was a true Christian. He strove always to be the best he could be - family man, Musician, brother, friend and champion to others.

John, brother, it is very hard to say goodbye so we will just say so-long. The pages of your book will never be closed, just as the pages of Mom and Dad’s pages are not closed either.

We will remember you through your beautiful music and the many people still left behind whose lives you touched so positively. You have left an amazing legacy behind, your beautiful children and your Music. They are your legacy! Through them you leave this world a better place than when you found it and for that you have to be very proud.

John, brother, we will miss you, but we will always remember you with respect, admiration

and love, always, always!

Njia yangu iwe ndefu, Yeye hunipa wokovu,Mawimbi yakinipiga, Nguvu ndizo nanga.

Bwana Usehemu Yangu,Rafiki Yangu Kweli

Bwana u sehemu yangu, Rafiki yangu, wewe,Katika safari yangu, Tatembea na wewe.

Pamoja na wewe, Pamoja na wewe,Katika safari yangu, Tatembea na wewe.

Mali hapa sikutaka, Ili niheshimiwe,Na yanikute mashaka, Sawasawa na wewe.

Pamoja na wewe, Pamoja na wewe,Heri nikute mashaka, Sawasawa na wewe.

Niongoze safarini, Mbele unichukue,Mlangoni mwa mbinguni, Niingie na wewe.

Pamoja na wewe, Pamoja na wewe,Mlangoni mwa mbinguni, Niingie na wewe.
