A CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION EDUCATOR WORKFORCE INVESTMENT GRANT TULARE COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION The English Learner Roadmap Elementary Teacher Strand Modules 3-5 In partnership with Sessions run from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Participants will engage in the last three of the five learning modules. The modules of the Teacher Strand are constructed following the four principles of the English Learner Roadmap. The teacher strand focuses on classroom practices, teaching and learning, and specific instructional strategies. Principle #2 will guide participants in Modules 3 and 4 to continue: Delving deep in the areas of integrated and designated ELD Immersing in the ELD standards Understanding integration of language development content knowledge Planning responsive designated ELD Learning high-leverage instructional strategies that build comprehension and support active engagement Focusing on all four domains of language Principle #3 and Principle #4 will be shared in Module 5 focusing on: Formative assessment Collaborative and reflective teacher practice Audience: all classroom teachers, site/local teams of educators, and paraprofessionals who completed Modules 1 and 2.
