    Foremost, I want to offer this endeavor to ALLAH SWT for enlightening me in passing

    every chapter, the strength, peace of mind and good health in order to finish this thesis. I am

    also thankful to the Prophet Muhammad Saw, for teaching me the right way to live.

    This thesis is expected to contribute in the academic field, namely as a reference for

    broadcasting study especially documentary film. As a student of broadcasting I also have a

    dream to became a director. I believe that through film, the director can communicate with the

    audience and documentary is about the effort to convince, persuade, or predispose masses to

    a particular view of the actual world I occupy.

    This thesis becomes a reality with the kind support and help of many individuals. I

    would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of them :

    1 I would like to express my gratitude towards my parents, Ferdi (alm) and Yustin

    Baron for encouragement which helped me in completion of this paper. I have

    experienced some ups and downs in the past three years. Every time I was ready

    to quit, you did not let me and I am forever grateful. This thesis stands as a

    testament to your unconditional love and encouragement. My supportive brother

    and beloved sister, Erick Andersen and Anes Tia who is always by my side when

    times I needed them most and helped me a lot in making this study.
