This guide was designed to help you find the products you may be interested in reviewing and using. Human Relations Toolkit: This page provides general awareness on various subjects including diversity management, generational differences, religious perspectives, and other topics related to human relations development. Some key areas under Human Relations Toolkit include the following:

• Special Observances provide numerous products and templates for your organization’s observance/awareness month events.

• Training Media focuses on Practitioner Development. These items provide continuing development for practitioners and cover specific job functions. Items include mediation, Commander’s in-brief, complaint processing, and short take scenarios that test practitioners’ knowledge by providing scenarios for identifying potentially problematic behaviors and selecting the proper course of action. Most videos include a facilitation guide that practitioners and leaders can use as written, or they may modify them as needed to broach these topics and provide unit-level training.

• Equal Employment Opportunity Resources provides video scenarios, online lessons, and an Awareness Presentation and EEO- specific web links.

• Harassment Prevention provides products to address each of the harassment areas outlined in Department of Defense instruction 1020.3, (i.e., sexual harassment, discriminatory harassment, bullying, hazing, retaliation, and reprisal). This area also outlines harassment prevention polices. Moreover, DEOMI provides a fully-developed Sexual Harassment Awareness and Prevention Training initiative that you can easily adapt for your command’s local use.

Research: This page provides access to DEOMI’s Library holdings, access to research presentations and reports generated by DEOMI, and information on research opportunities at DEOMI.

DEOCS/Assessment to Solutions: The main purpose of the Assessment to Solution’s area of the website is to support anyone involved in the climate assessment process. This area provides products that will help in developing strategies to accurately characterize the organization’s climate and effectively overcome issues identified during the assessment process.

The main page displays the five climate assessment phases (prepare, conduct, interpret, develop, and execute). Each of these five areas provides numerous products to guide you through each particular phase. Pay close attention to the phase guides and videos provided to enhance your effectiveness in the process. Additionally, the Phase 3 (Interpret) area provides guides to help you conduct focus groups and observations, and review records and reports.

It is strongly recommended that users start by watching the Introduction to A2S video.

Products specifically designed to support each of the DEOCS climate factors can be found under the Factor Products tab on the website. All of the factors included in the DEOCS report are listed under this tab, in one of three main DEOCS areas: Organizational Effectiveness, Equal Opportunity/Equal Employment Opportunity/Fair treatment, and Sexual Assault Prevention & Response. Clicking on each factor shows various products that may include the following: fact sheets, presentations, prevention strategies, recommended focus group questions, links to online lessons, recommended readings, factor descriptions, training videos, and web resources.

DEOMI provides resources designed to explicitly address each of the DEOCS’s climate factors, such as bullying, discrimination, hazing, sexual harassment, etc. The purposes of these resources vary widely; an extensive list of these resources is provided below, organized by topic, along with the respective website address where each can be found. Factor videos describe each DEOCS factor, and provide examples of how specific behaviors may be perceived by others.
