We would like to welcome back many of our seasonal members and look forward to a great fall and winter season here at SPCC. We have been working through the summer months to continue with capital improvements and would like to invite everyone to see the Astroturf that was installed on the pool deck.

We will pick up live entertainment on Wednesdays as we get into November and we have Tom Arnold with us for the Seafood buffet. The performers have all played here in the past and we are excited that Pat Henry is returning to the lineup.

In addition to the Thanksgiving full menu catering, we will be offering individual to go orders straight from the buffet. November is going to be a busy month with the member

guest events, Thanksgiving, theme buffets, and the big

“Winter Kickoff Party”. The Event is open to the entire

membership and will be a great social event. We are fea-

turing the popular local band “Ocean Road”. Please RSVP

early so we may properly prepare for the event.

Welcome Back! We have many snowbirds returning for the season this month, and a lot of new faces this year —so to kick the season off right we are hosting a Winter Kick-Off Party on Saturday, November 12th. The party will be in the ballroom and will feature a live 6 piece band, prizes, and complimentary hors -d’ouevres! It would be a great help if you would please call and let us know you will be attending so that we will be sure to have food and staff prepared accordingly. Our Winter Membership is in full swing—please be sure to tell everyone you know about it, share our posts on facebook, and I would love to spread our name throughout the County—so if you visit your doctor’s office, dentist, dermatologist, hair salon, etc…. Would you please leave a brochure in the waiting room? I have lots at the front desk you may pick up anytime. We are one of the only clubs offering a seasonal mem-bership, so there is a lot of interest in joining our club right now. We are also offering a 1 year trial, so for your friends in town all year this is a great opportunity to check us out! Thanksgiving is coming up soon …. Please make your reservations with the club so we can ensure a fabulous feast for all! If you prefer to eat at home, but do not want the hassle, the club will prepare your meal for you and have it hot and ready for you to pick up. Or, some folks place a to go order even though they are spending Thanksgiving with us to ensure leftovers the next day. The order forms were mailed with your monthly statement, and copies are also available for you to pick up at the front desk or in the business office. This year marks the 37th anniversary of our Men’s Member-Guest! The event will be held

November 10th, 11th & 12th. Contestants please confirm with the staff that we have

received your entry and guest information. The course will be closed for non-tournament play Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Ladies’ Member-Guest will be Tuesday November 8th. Play will begin with a 9:00 am

shotgun start. The member afternoon shotgun will begin approximately 1:30pm after the completion of the tournament. The ladies will also have a practice round on Monday, November 7

th, with a 1:00pm shotgun start.

Winners in our Pinehurst Modified Alternate-Shot event were Kirk Barker & Chad Seufert shooting 65, P.J. Penrose & Bobby Eggimann finished second with 66.4.

Tennis Talk…… November is finally here. After all the heat and rain this Summer, I for one am looking forward to some cool Fall weather. The finals of the Club Singles Championships will take place this month. The finals for the Men’s A & B finals will take place on or around Satur-day, November 12th. The Satellite and South Pinellas Ladies leagues are well un-der way. Call ahead for Tuesday court times, as this morn-ing is very busy. With daylight saving time going off, it’s a good idea to make a reservation for a lit court. Couples and Singles Mixed Doubles will be on Friday, No-vember 11 at 6:15 PM. I have been emailing tennis players about court conditions and tennis events.
