This was not your typical movie night. The Central
Activities Network (CAN) wanted to host an event the
night before classes start that would be relaxing yet
fun. A 28ft inflatable projection screen was built on
the lawn between DiLoreto and Carroll Halls.
CAN decided that laughing along to Kevin Hart and
"The Rock" in Jumanji: The Next Level would begin
the year on a high note. The Jumanji franchise began
in 1995 with the original film starring Robin
Williams, and was picked up again in 2017 with
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. In The Next Level
(2019), characters re-enter the game but the game is
fighting back.
To supplement the themes in the films, CAN picked
out safari animals to be part of a stuff-a-pal activity
during the movie. When students arrived at the
check-in location outside of Willard-DiLoreto, they
chose between:
They grabbed stuffing materials and a custom CAN
t-shirt for their new pal. In addition to this activity,
students can also enjoyed pre-packaged popcorn
bags and plenty of bottled water.
The first 100 students received an exclusive CAN
beach towel, perfect for using to lounge on the lawn.
The movie ended in a cliff hanger, so we might be
able to expect more Jumanji movies in the future.

the memories that were being made while students
decorated cactus planters! Students had the

Student Activities & Leadership Development
offered a session for clubs that were able to register
on time and who remained active throughout the
past year.
No we did not hand out free cell phones... "a celly" is
the term our students are using to abbreviate "a
celebration", but we did hand out free ice cream at
the end of the program!
Club leaders learned about the changes made to club
processes, including the re-branding of "The Link".
