“To God Be The

Glory, Great Things

He Has Done!” 2014 Budget Proposal

Dear Church Family, First Baptist Church has once again experienced the blessing of God in 2013. We’ve experienced God’s working again and again in our congregation. God has worked through the generous giving of His people to exceed our goals for this year’s budget. As we look to the future, now is the time for us to commit to our 2014 church budget. It reflects a little less than 3% increase over our 2013 budget. You will notice that our budget line items are arranged to reflect the five purposes of the church: Worship, Evangelism, Fellowship, Discipleship, and Ministry. This serves as a reminder of our desire to be “A Purpose Driven Church,” and of our desire “To Know Christ and To Make Him Known.” Please take a few moments to prayerfully consider the proposed budget for 2014. A copy is inserted in this week’s Clarion. It represents the combined ministry plans of over 40 committees and/or ministries and four full time ministerial staff. A word of thanks is in order for those forty some committees and/or ministries for their dedication and hard work. Another word of thanks goes out to the Stewardship Committee for their work in compiling the budget and overseeing the finances of the church throughout the year - Art de la Croix, Joe Hughes, Sharon Newsom, Kerrie Slaughter, Matt Phillips and Bud McInnis. The Stewardship Committee has already presented the budget to the deacons who now recommend it to the church body. We will discuss the proposed budget on November 6, at 6:00 PM at our Quarterly Business Meeting. If there are no major problems with the budget, a vote for approval will be taken November 17, during the morning service. The stewardship giving of our church tells a lot about who we are as disciples. It tells we believe in being a Christian steward, that we believe in the local church, and that we all desire to honor God through our giving. May our light shine so others may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16) In Jesus Name, Art de la Croix Cecil Sanders Stewardship Committee Chair Pastor

“Thanks for the Memories”

JOY Luncheon (Just Older Youth)

Tuesday, November 5 at 11:00AM

Don’t miss this meaningful time of recalling God’s faithfulness and giving thanks for what He has done. Bring your wedding pictures (or pictures from your younger days) and a family heirloom or keepsake. We will display these treasures, share their special meaning and then give God thanks for the sweet memories. The menu will be ribs, chicken, baked potatoes, slaw, and dessert. Where else can you have such good food and fellowship and it not cost a dime?? Nowhere! Bring a friend and join the fun!

F BC Church Family, thank you for your expressions of

love and caring during the recent loss of our father and

grandfather. We are truly blessed to be part of such a special

church family.
