Why Give to Annie Armstrong? Because three of four people in North America are lost. One hundred percent
of dollars given to the AAEO go to support thousands of missionaries and their ministries in the United States
and Canada.
North American Missionaries - Though their stories and methods vary, our missionaries are doing whatever it
takes to share the gospel with North America. Whether it is starting a new church, meeting the needs of the
homeless, or leading Back Yard Bible Clubs, missionaries depend on the faithful prayers and generosity of
Southern Baptists. Please pray for our missionaries and give generously to the Annie Armstrong Easter
Offering®.
Our Week of Prayer is April 6 - 13, 2014. Our church's goal this year is $22,000. We will offer our gifts on
Sunday, April 13th.
April 6-13, 2014
Firmly Planted
The theme for the 2014 Annie Armstrong
Easter Offering (AAEO) for North
American Missions is Firmly Planted.
God designed plants to grow and bear
fruit. Their growth and production is
largely dependent upon their root systems
and the soils in which they are planted. Similarly, Christians
and churches must grow deep so that they can grow wide. Our
North American Mission Board (NAMB) missionaries are men
and women whom God has transplanted into the least
evangelized and churched areas of North America. There they
are putting down their roots, settling in and establishing
meaningful relationships with those who do not know Christ as
Lord and Savior. As God “firmly plants” them across North
America, He then begins to bring forth the fruit of changed
lives through them. We are privileged as a church to partner
with these choice men and women through praying, going and
giving.
This summer Joel Tucker and our students will travel north to
Indianapolis to provide hands on support to NAMB
missionaries in that city. They will labor with church planting
missionaries to assist their work in reaching unbelievers in this
greatly unchurched city. Be praying for this group that God
would strengthen their spiritual roots in preparation to serve.
It’s thrilling to see our Barnabas Sunday School Class extend
the love of Christ to Marines stationed in Spain by sending
care packages, notes of encouragement and copies of God’s
Word. Pray this labor of love will bear fruit in these young
Marines’ lives.
Aren’t we excited for our own Jenna Singletary who was
recently appointed as a Journeyman with our International
Mission Board (IMB)! She’ll serve two years overseas
following her graduation from Troy University this May. Be
praying for Jenna to be firmly planted so that she may reach
many for Christ abroad!
Be sure to speak to Bill Gamble, Jerome Baxley and Dr. Brian
Martin concerning their recent mission trips to Brazil and
Israel. God used these firmly planted men to build His
kingdom and bear fruit on the foreign field.
Also, many of our men and women have given themselves to
serve the Lord in two upcoming Walks to Emmaus. This effort
will reach many with a fresh touch of God’s love. Pray for
them.
What greater purpose could we all have for being alive than to
bear fruit for God’s glory?! First Baptist Church is deepening!
Our roots are becoming firmly planted! God is reaching
people through us. Hallelujah!
