The Challenger April 2016 From the Desk of the DOM: Once again summer is approaching and opportunities abound for service and/or prayer support. Here are some highlights to keep in mind. Associational Children's Camp at Falls Creek will take place May 29 - June 4. This will include two sessions; one from Sunday evening through Wednesday morning and the other Wednesday evening through Saturday morning. The 8 sessions of Falls Creek Youth Assembly begins June 6 and continues through the end of July. Find out when your youth group will at- tend and get involved in some way. Vacation Bible Schools will be held in our associational churches throughout the summer months. This is a vital means of communicating the gospel to children and their families. Check with your pastor or VBS Director to see how you can help. The associational mission trip to Grand Island, Nebraska is to be July 23- 29. We can use all the help we can get to do this. We are also working hard to keep costs to a minimum so that as many people as possible can go. If you are interested in knowing more details, call the BBA office. These are just some of the opportunities for service this summer. Un- doubtedly there are others through your local church body. Find out about them, pray for guidance, and become a part of the ministry by either partic- ipation, prayer, or both. Tim Bowen, DOM

From the BBA Prayer Ministry Team Leader The Word is very clear that God has always been ready to make Himself known to His people. He said in Jeremiah 29:13-14, "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when Ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord." Moses said something similar to Israel. "Thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find Him, if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul." (Deut. 4:29.) In our spiritual journey, and particular in our prayer life it is of critical importance to keep our focus on the Lord. When our focus is on Him, it is much easier to live righteous and achieve His will. When we take our eyes off the Master, we start living contrary to the will and the law of God. One of the most important ways to keep our focus on the King is to have a dedicated prayer life. Not only praying throughout the day, but having a time set aside for a deep study of God's Word and intimate fellowship with Him through prayer. As we keep witnessing day by day, our country is in a rapid moral decline and the only thing that will bring it in line to what God has designed for us is a great revival and spiritual awakening. That will not, I repeat will not happen without prayer and repentance. May we join our hearts in prayer, praying for our association and our nation . In His Grip, Bro. Anthony

Ahoy from LTBRM!

This past month, we had a couple of groups come out to help with cleaning up the grounds as we prepare for the summer season. One group that we had the privilege of hosting for their Spring Break was London Baptist from New London, TX. This group of students stayed busy despite the rainy weather and made some great progress in the clean up efforts! Thank you to Wesley Wyatt and his youth group for working so hard. In addition to helping out with our ministry, they also volunteered at Families Feeding Families and did some work with the Baptist Village! It is so amazing to see God work in the lives of students. Missions at LTBRM are a great way to make a huge impact!

In an effort to reduce printing & mailing costs, you have the option of having the Challenger sent to your email. If you prefer to receive the Challenger via email, contact: [email protected]
