A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear Holy Apostles Parish Family,
I hope everyone is doing well going back to
school last week and this week! It is time to gear
up for another year. This weekend we have our
Time/Talent Ministry Fair. It is a great time to
look at new possibilities of serving or jump in for
the first time. The following weekend will by our
time to sign-up. This year we are focusing on
Tuesday and Wednesday night to provide child-
care for those wanting to participate in minis-
tries, who have young children. These two
evenings will be heavy with meetings of minis-
tries people have wanted to join, but were not
able due to not having childcare.
Also at the Ministry Fair we will be showing peo-
ple how to do CPR compressions in five minutes.
Our staff was trained this month and is charged
with passing this message and training along. It
is very simple and the training was actually fun.
Please stop by, so you will know what to do if
someone drops in front of you. This training has
vastly improved the rate of survival in our state.
Have a Blessed Week! Father Paul
BACK TO SCHOOL PRAYER We thank you for the fragrance
of a new box of crayons, Lord,
the rainbow in each perfect row.
Thank you for each bundle of
snowy white notebook paper,
awaiting fresh possibilities.
May they remind us that you
make all things new and bless
us with abundance.
Thank you for this ruler, for every
eraser that tops every pencil.
May they help us remember to
measure our blessings but never
your boundless love for us;
to allow for the making of
mistakes as a normal part of
human learning.
As we lay out our new clothes for
these first days of school, help
us remember to put on Christ
each day, too, and to “clothe the
naked” as he asked us.
But mostly, God, help us remem-
ber that Jesus is always our best
and most devoted teacher—that
we never outgrow all his lessons
on how you want us to live and
love. —Mary Lynn Hendrickson

Your Gifts Make a Difference to Many Always employed with a solid work history, a local single
mother found herself out of work this summer when her
employer reduced its work force. This young woman is
determined to find a new job so that
she can continue to support her son,
however money has gotten tight. She
called the St. Vincent de Paul Society
to ask for help with gas for her car,
which would allow her to visit a job fair
and attend an interview. Vincentians filled her car and
blessed her with prayerful support. Several bags of food
were provided to ease this young family's budget as they
work to get back on their feet. “So whatever you wish that
others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law
and the Prophets." Matthew 7:12

Join Cub Scout Pack 351... ...there’s no better way to spend time with your son!
Pack 351 is the only Catholic sponsored/supported
Pack in McHenry. We are recruiting Boys 1st through
5th grade. Scouting encourages all family members,
young and old, to take part in our activities (yes, sis-
ters, mom’s, grandparents, too) which include family
camping, hiking, rocket launching and lots more!
Scouting is an activity you can truly do together WITH
your son. Being a Scout doesn’t take a lot of time (3
nights a month plus occasional weekend activities)
and doesn’t take a lot of money (a nominal annual fee
toward awards and activities). For more information
join us on September 14 at 7 PM in Muldoon Hall (at
St. Patrick’s) and/or text/call Mitch Odahowski at 815
-341-8250 or [email protected]
Donate Used Scout Uniforms Pack 351 Uniform Exchange
Do you have parts of an outgrown Scout uniform?
Drop off your uniform in the box in the narthex or at
one of the Montini Schools and we'll happily get it in
the hands of a Scout who needs one! Cub Scouts and
Boy Scouts all need shirts, pants, shorts and hats but
they prefer up-to-date items without holes or stains.
Keep your t-shirts, sweatshirts, socks, patches, and
books along with the great memories from your days
wearing the uniform!
We are also looking for gently used 1—2— 4 person
tents and various clean camping equipment (sleeping
mats, bug netting, etc.).
This uniform collection will help provide complete
uniforms for incoming and current scouts. Contact
Mitch Odahowski at 815-341-8250 with questions.

imposible agradar a Dios UNA FE CRECIDA, FUERTE
en los siglos venideros;
1. UNA FE GRANDE NO SE INTIMIDA ANTE LA
MAGNITUD DEL PROBLEMA.
2. UNA FE GRANDE NO SE DETIENE ANTE EL
SILENCIO DE JESÚS
3. UNA FE GRANDE RESISTE LA OPOSICIÓN DE LOS
HOMBRES,
Cristo tomó TODO EL ACTA QUE NOS ERA CONTRAR-
