POSTLUDE “God Bless America” Berlin MARK 12:41-44 (NIV)

“Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, ‘Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.’”

CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP “American Tears” Teresa Jennings 4C (Children’s Christian Community Choir)

CALL TO WORSHIP (based on Psalm 146) L: Happy are those whose hope is in God, maker of heaven and earth-- P: For God keeps faith forever! L: God executes justice for the oppressed and gives food for the hungry. P: God sets the prisoners free and opens the eyes of the blind. L: God lifts up those who are bowed down. P: God watches over the strangers and upholds the orphan and the widow. L: People of God, sing praise to the One who is your help-- P: For God keeps faith forever!

HYMN “Eternal Father, Strong to Save” No. 808 (Verses 1, 2 & 3)

PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (In Unison) Gracious God, so often we look at our lives, our gifts and our talents, and wonder what you would do with these offerings. We don’t think that we have much to give. Far too often we think that we must possess the greatest of talents and wealth in order to truly please and serve you. Help us know that our lives, our gifts, and our talents are blessings from you, that they are truly wonderful and meant to be used in joy and service to others.

L: Let us now pray together the prayer that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught us:

P: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Announcements for November11, 2018

The theme for this year’s stewardship campaign is based on “Did you know?” Our planning for this year revealed that many of us do not realize all of the activities and services provided by the church that your money is being used for. Also, how efficiently the money is being utilized to support these activities as administered by the Board and pastors. In the next few weeks you will be seeing “Did you know”

information identifying many of these activities to help you plan your giving in support of the 2019 budget cycle.
