BENEDICTION

POSTLUDE Chorus to “Battle Hymn of the Republic” arr. Wilhousky ACTS 1:6-14 (NIV)

“Then they gathered around him and asked him, ‘Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?’ He said to them: ‘It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. ‘Men of Galilee,’ they said, ‘why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.’ Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city. When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.”

Announcements for May 28, 2017

FALLEN SOLDIER MONUMENT

For those who would like to pay their respects to service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, a fallen soldier monument has been erected in the west section of the Garden of Memories Columbarium. A heartfelt thank you to Ltjg. Tim Rilley for the loan and placement of the statue.

WALL OF MILITARY SERVICE

The Col. John “Scotty” Clarke Wall of Military Service is a monument given to the church by Isabel Clarke in honor of her late husband. The wall offers an opportunity for church members and their immediate families, living and deceased, to be recognized for their service in the U.S. Armed Forces. The monument is located on the west wall of the Garden of Memories expansion. A brochure explaining how to honor a family member will be available in the garden today or will be available in the church office during the week. All proceeds from plaque sales will be used to maintain the Garden of Memories.

We Welcome New Members

Bradley & Jenifer Sullivan

We are happy you have chosen to become a part of this body of Christ!

Take time to check out what’s happening…

people and make many acquaintances. It is a perfect volunteer opportunity for anyone. If you would like to help, please sign up in Souers Hall or contact Nana Hamlin at [email protected] or call the church office at (623) 935-3411.
