FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT First Reading: Isaiah 63:16b-17, 19b, 64:2-7 In this straightforward psalm, the people acknowledge their sinful ways, yet plead that their Creator might reveal himself to them. They ask God to remember, not their sins, but that “We are all the work of your hands.” Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:3-9 Paul explains to the Corinthians that they are specially favored by God who has sent his only Son to them. He reminds us all that it was through God’s grace that we have been called to kinship with Christ. Gospel: Mark 13:33-37 Just as a servant watching over the master’s house does not know when he will return, we do not know the hour of the Second Coming. Mark reminds us of the warning from Jesus to always be on guard, for we know not the day nor the hour.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL We offer our prayers and condolences to the family of Paul McGovern whose Mass of Christian Burial were celebrated last week. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. .

MEN'S GUILD The Men's Guild meeting is held monthly on the Second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall. New members are always wel-comed, in furthering the Guild's mission of assisting the Parish through its various ministries.

WOMEN’S GUILD NEWS
We are collecting diapers (newborn and size 1) and baby wipes for the Little Flower Home during the month of December. If you can help us with this project, please place items in baskets at entrances to St. Christopher's and main entrance of St. There-sa's. Thank you.
The next meeting of the Women's Guild will be at 7pm on Monday, December 4th at St. Christopher's hall. The time change is to allow those who want to attend Advent Holy Hour at 6pm to do so. We will be making a decision on the Guild Christmas party venue, so please attend if you'd like to have input, and will also be sending Christmas cards to the home bound of the parishes. Please bring 3 or 4 religious Christmas cards with you to this meeting.
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION December 8 the Catholic Church celebrates the Holy Day of Obligation: the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mass Schedule is as follows: 8:00 am at St. Christopher Church 7:00 pm at St. Theresa Church

THANK YOU A very special THANK YOU goes out to Nancy Mello and Joe Perry, the volunteers, the drivers, the donators of food, for their part in helping the Thanksgiving Dinner that was served at St. Theresa Hall to be a success. In total, 145 dinners were served or delivered due to your generosity!
JAMAICAN MISSION TRIP In June, 2018, a group of adults and teens from the Catholic Community of St. Theresa and St. Christopher will again go to Jamaica for a mission trip. Please continue to keep these missionaries in your prayers as they plan to serve the less fortunate.
