Please join us for Stations of the Cross - “Voices Stations”, Good Friday night (March

30th) at 7:00pm in the Church.

Our humanity bleeds through today's Gospel passages in more ways than one. We see both elation and fall, hope in the midst of the darker sides of our natures. If we allow it, these Gospels hold a mirror to our own fickle hearts. The crowds cry "Hosanna" and the Apostles

profess allegiance unto death. In a manner of days - even hours - Jesus is betrayed, abandoned, denied,

condemned, tortured, and executed. As God, he could have stopped this horrific narrative from unfolding, but

he doesn't. He allows free will to play itself out.

There are nearly two millennia between this spectacle and us. We can stand safely removed, if we choose. But Lent invites us to return to this story. Lent invites us to find ourselves in the people we encounter there. Are we the repentant woman at Bethany? Are we naysayers of such lavish piety? Have we acted in a way that betrays those we love or denies what we know to be good and true? Have we fallen asleep in our faith? Have we unfairly accused others of a crime or immorality we

imagine, though perhaps they didn't commit? Do we help others carry their burdens? Do we stand in solidarity with

those who suffer? Do we care for the dying?

This week, take up today's Gospel again. Look carefully at the Passion narrative and sit with it in silence. Find yourself in the story and ponder its meaning for your own life. Journey with Jesus to the foot of the Cross so that you too may say, along with the faithful centurion, "truly this man was the Son of God!" (Taken from LPi, Inc.)

As you may have heard, a major campaign is underway at St. Mary. Catho-

lic Strong, the Campaign for

the Catholic Community of South Jersey, is seeking to secure a minimum of $50 million, which will primarily benefit our local parishes. Seventy percent of the funds that we raise will be allocated for our own parish needs and thirty percent will fund the diocese’s coordination and support of various ministries. The

mission of this campaign is to ensure that our

parishes are financially stable and allow the diocese

the opportunity to address long-term and extraordi-

nary needs so that our Church will have the strength

and stability to serve future generations of Catholics.

70% of the campaign funds that we raise toward

our parish goal will be used at St. Mary for: Replacement/of Church & Hall HVAC systems -Hire Youth/Yg. Adult/Family minister funding for 2 yr salary -Renovation of Parish Hall Kitchen/replace side doors of Hall -Reupholster pews/replace carpeting under pews with tile.

Walk in a Relaxed Manner by Joyce Rupp

In her recent book, Rupp takes us on the journey she experienced, at age 60, when she walked the 500 mile Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain, an ancient pilgrimage route, that is well traversed today. As she compares the ups and downs of our daily lives to the lessons she learned on her challenging walk, she hopes her writing will "...stir up fresh enthusiasm for your life as they have for mine." J.Rupp It is not too late to join our discussion, even if you were unable to be there for the first session. You can easily join us as we continue to discuss Rupp's journey and our daily journeys. Collect prayer for Easter

O God, who on this day, through your Only Begotten Son, have conquered death and

unlocked for us the path to eternity, grant, we pray, that we who keep the solemnity of the Lord’s Resurrection may, through the renewal

brought by your Spirit, rise up in the light of life. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives nd reigns with you in the unity of the one

God, for ever and ever.
