Wow! ank you! anks to each and every one of you who helped the Cathedral Parish of St. Philip celebrate resurrection on Easter Sunday. Every one of you, in your own way, were part of resurrection on Sunday—even if you weren’t here! Each year, I try to mention and thank every possible ministry and guild and committee that participated on Easter Sunday. Of course, there really are too many to count. But, this year, I want to mention, in particular, the saints of God who helped the Cathedral celebrate Easter, but who were not actually at church on Easter Sunday! Some of us were celebrating elsewhere, to be sure. Maybe we were visiting family or friends somewhere else. I hope you had a tremendous Sunday! Further, some of us were not here because we were ill. Some of us have been home bound for some time. Some of us can still get around, but we just couldn’t face so many people on Easter Sunday. But, you know what? is Cathedral can celebrate resurrection not just because of who participates now, but also because of who has participated in the past. Saints who are not present every Sunday now, sure did show up every Sunday in their time. Saints who can not give so much financially now, sure did pledge and give generously in their time. You taught Sunday School in your time. You served, prayed, you showed up. You influenced, and trained, and loved Easter for years to come. You are the saints who I want to thank this Easter. I want to thank the saints who were faithful and physically present in their time. Even if you were not here this past Easter Sunday, this is still your time. You have provided for resurrection and new life by your faithful commitment in the past. You are those who have enabled other saints to celebrate Easter in this time. ank you! Easter is an energy that exists outside of time, and for all time. Easter is the recognition that God lives no matter what season of life we are in. ank you! Alleluia! Christ is risen! Combining the Old Fashioned Sunday School class with our Confirmation Class for two weeks, Dean Sam Candler will talk about the history and identity of e Episcopal Church in a presentation titled, “e Episcopal Church: Where We Came From and Who We Are” (e “Angles of Anglicanism!”). THANK YOU FOR EASTER IN YOUR TIME!

Wow!

Thank you! Thanks to each and every one of you who helped the Cathedral Parish of St.

This Cathedral can celebrate resurrection not just because of who participates now, but also because of who has participated in the past.

Thank you! Easter is an energy that exists outside of time, and for all time. Easter is the recognition that God lives no matter what season of life we are in.

Thank you! Alleluia! Christ is risen!

Sunday ADULT EDUCATION

OLD FASHIONED

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Child HallDean Sam Candler presents a special two-part Forum this Sunday in Child Hall. Combining the Old Fashioned Sunday School class with our Confirmation Class for two weeks, Dean Sam Candler will talk about the history and identity of The Episcopal Church in a presentation titled, “The Episcopal Church: Where We Came From and Who We Are” (The “Angles of Anglicanism!”). Join him this Sunday, April 8, and Sunday, April 15, at 10:10 am in Child Hall.

OUR TRUE SELVES

Room 240The Rev. Dr. Thee Smith leads this series of co-listening classes that aim to enhance our personal, interpersonal, and intergroup ability to be fully ourselves—our true, worthy, and estimable selves. This class explores the theory and practice of genuine listening—listening with skilled awareness that can focus on everyday experiences, or range through tough political issues to include a vast variety of life choices and faith matters.

LIVING FAITH

Room 120 Throughout the season of Easter, we will explore the spirituality of the twelve steps using Richard Rohr’s Breathing Underwater as a basis. This series is led by Canons Wallace Marsh and Cathy Zappa.

SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDY

Room 122Jim Bingham and Gordon Mathis lead an ongoing small group Bible Study focusing on the book of Genesis. For more information, please contact Jim Bingham at 404-373-3273 or [email protected].

THE ENJOYMENT OF BIBLICAL GREEK

Room 356 (1:15 p.m.)This class uses translation aids including lexicons and commentaries to enjoy how probing the Greek of New Testament texts adds nuance and depth to reading Holy Scripture. Newcomers and long-term members are welcome! For more information, contact the Rev. Dr. Thee Smith, [email protected].

Unless otherwise noted, these adult classes meet from 10:10–11 a.m.

BRING JEWELRY DONATIONS ON APRIL 15

St. Veronica’s Guild is collecting vintage, estate, and contemporary costume jewelry for a glitzy and glamorous sale in September. Bring your donations to church on Sunday, April 15, when guild members will be in the Atrium to collect items. This is an opportunity to clean out your own jewelry box as well as pass along any old pieces from your grandmothers, mothers, and aunts. Even damaged pieces, single earrings, and broken items of sterling or gold will be used. While the sale will not take place until September, we need your donations now. Guild members are preparing for the sale by collecting, cleaning, repairing, and pricing jewelry in the coming weeks.

The jewelry sale will benefit Good Samaritan Health Center Friday Clinic, dedicated to helping people in the homeless community achieve well-being and stability. The sale also benefits St. Veronica’s ongoing projects of donating personal care items to four ministries: Church of the Common Ground, Crossroads Community Ministries, Emmaus House, and Church of the Holy Comforter.

Jewelry donations can also be dropped off at the Information Desk, given to a guild member, or picked up by contacting [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected].

Enjoy a weekend full of spirituality and fellowship with other Cathedral parishioners and clergy. Kanuga is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and experience God with the beloved community.

The weekend includes old favorites such as s'mores, hiking, rocking on the porch, ice cream, bluegrass and, of course, the famous Kanuga toast. We will offer an adult program on Saturday morning and enjoy worshiping together in the informal chapel on Sunday. Meals are served family-style in the lodge and accommodations are available in historic cottages or the hotel-style inn.

MUSICMAZI ROBINSON TO PRESENT:

“LIVING THIS ONE LIFE WELL”

Join St. Monica's Guild and Mazi Robinson on Tuesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. in the Gould Room. PHILADELPHIA ORGANIST TO PERFORM SUNDAY

This Sunday, April 8, the Cathedral welcomes organist Bryan Dunnewald, a student of Alan Morrison at the Curtis Institute of Music, and organist at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Philadelphia.
