Reprint of Letter to the GLB Members from President Henry - March 11, 2012

March 11, 2012

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!"

Psalms 133:1

Greetings Members,

Just a brief update concerning the GLB Schedule of events for our fiscal year of 2011-2012.

Beginning November 13, 2011, our first event was the Don Lee White Memorial Concert chaired by Yolanda West and committee which was most successful with great reviews! Thanks, in part to Henrietta Fortson's Power Point presentation and James Sterrett-Bryant who landed us an interview with KUSC!

December 18, 2011 was the Spotlight on Youth Concert featuring former and current scholarship winners - again, a great concert chaired by Dorothy Hayes, co-Chaired by Gloria Lindsay and the entire committee.

February 19, 2012 -- "The Evolution of the Spiritual chaired by Dorothy Hayes -- Everyone is still sending accolades about it. They say that it was the best spiritual concert ever!

The next event will be the Scholarship Competition on May 12th at Crenshaw United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. Everyone needs to come out and support our young people. The 1st place winner will receive $1,000, 2nd place will be $750 and 3rd place will receive $550.

Members, our Western Regions Conference will take place in April on the 27th and 28th. Please see the attached information and registration form. Arvis Jones is our regional director.

July and August is "Fund Raiser" time for GLB and we have received several suggestions for a good fund raiser. Please come and bring your energy and your creative ideas and contributions to the planning of this event. We need your "in-put" and your PRAYERS!
