Past & Passed Players & Officials Greetings Past Players,

Come along to Wine Fly Park this Saturday for our last home game for the year against Edwardstown.

Not only is it our last home game and a win will finish us in second place on the ladder, but it is also a very

important milestone game for a Winefly Icon…..the man known only as Milo.

Milo will play his 150th A grade game for Reynella on Saturday. Milo has been a great servant of the club

since returning from South Adelaide. Rumour has it he may not play on next year so make sure you get out

to support him and witness what could be the last time we see this great club man play at Winefly Park.

Let’s cheer him on in this great achievement and watch him weave some more of his Milo Magic!

On another note, a big congratulations goes to Trowsy who won 3 cartons last week in the $100

club….another very popular winner!

It will be the final show for the $100 club this Saturday with a lunch and drinks for all paid up members

commencing at 1pm in appreciation for the support they have shown the club this year.

A big thanks goes out to our A Grade Coach Gianni, who has taken some time out once again to give me a

few of this year’s positive points.

I have been really encouraged by our performances in the last 5 weeks. The boys have really started to con-

sistently play the style of footy we have been asking for all year and as we all know consistency going into

finals is crucial. Some positional re-structures and a genuine willingness to run and move the footy quickly

have been the catalysts for our good form. In recent weeks we have settled a half back line of Bradley

Thompson, Jason Farrier and Dillon Lock and all three guys have been playing well. With Fazza’s experi-

ence and brilliant reading of the play and the smart decision making and ball use of both Ranga and Locky

we have set up many attacks from half back.

The midfield have also been very good in the last month especially considering we have been missing our

Captain Luke Aschmoneit. Led by Adam Broadbent and Steve Prescott the clearance numbers and run and

drive that a midfield group consisting of Carts, Mahony and Bradwell as well as the afore mentioned 2 has

been great. Of course they have been fed superbly but probably the most in form ruckman in the league

Luke Ciampa. Big Lukey’s second half of the season has been exceptional.

I cannot miss our forward line which continues to function well and kick winning scores for us. Brendan

(Milo) McKeough has been brilliant and always creating a contest for us, and the continual emergence of x-

factors Callan Semple and Brenton Tilly has been very encouraging.

We are now looking forward to the game this week Vs Edwardstown in which it will be Milo’s 150th for the

club. I have spoken with the boys all year about the importance of honoring someone in their milestone

game so we should be pumped for not only this week but hopefully a few weeks ahead as well.

Cheers G

So I urge you to get out of the house and bring the family down to our last home game for the year, the

weather looks like it should be ok, so no excuses. You can hopefully cheer us on for another win and finish

the minor round off with a positive leading into the finals.

A big congratulations has to go out to the U/10 Black minis team for making the grand final in the U/10 carnival last week. After going down in the first game the boys had to dig deep and win the next three games to advance to the finals. Full credit goes to the boys because they won the next three to get into the finals, where we had to win another two games.

We beat an undefeated Christies Beach in the first final and Aldinga in the second final. The game against Aldinga went into overtime due to the final scores being tied, so an extra five minutes were played each end. Which we won to put us in the Grand Final against Flagstaff Hill who we had lost to in the first game of the day.

Unfortunately we went down but with a good fight. Better players for the day went to Talon Copley who was everywhere the ball was, Luke Flood lead by example when he was put in the middle and Jack Delean and Cooper Oshea were dangerous around the goals. It was a great team effort to go as far as we did so well done to all players on the day.

Also to the U/10 Whites who were a game off playing in the Grand Final and to the U/10 Greys who missed out on playing finals only by percentage well done on a successful day for the Reynella minis.

Focus on Minis

The minis have had a couple busy weeks. Last week the under 10's went to OSB/Lonsdale for their carnival. The weather was fantastic and there were some cracker games played. Both the Black and White teams made the knockout final rounds. The Grey team missed the knockout round by a small margin. The White team pushed Flagstaff Hill in the semi final but lost by 10 points. The Black team played an epic semi final against Aldinga and at the end of the game, scores were tied sending the game into extra time. It was an ex-citing finish with the Black team progressing to the grand final. The boys put in a gallant effort but they were absolutely spent going down to Flagstaff Hill. The Under 12's went to Hackham on Sunday to play their carnival. It was cold, wet and muddy but football is a winter sport after all. Both the Black and White teams had 2 good wins but unfortunately these weren't enough to get to the finals. I think most people were happy to get out of the rain. Throughout all of the carnival days the players showed the Winefly spirit and put 110% in. They all showed terrific sportsmanship. The minis disco was held on the 9th August and everyone who attended had a great time..... There are a few photos on Facebook :-). Our season wraps up on Friday night with our trophy presentation and sausage sizzle. Good luck to all of the teams that will be playing in finals. Go Wineflies! Sent from my iPhone
