National Pecan Torte Day.

A torte is a rich, usually multi-

layered, dessert that can be filled

with whipped cream, buttercream,

mousse, jam, fruits or nuts. Most

often, the cooled torte is glazed and

garnished.

Tortes are normally made with little

to no flour, instead using ground nuts

or breadcrumbs, along with sugar,

eggs and flavourings.
