Make this newsletter

yours!

It’s dues season! With all of

the Key Clubs back in session,

it’s time to make our members

official! Treasurers ,this is your

time to shine! Organize your

members, input them into the

database, and submit the dues

to International by our divisional

goal of November 1st! If you

have any issues, contact me or

Eric Grewal!

When dues are out of the

way, we can all focus on the

most important aspect of Key

Club. You guessed it. That

aspect is service. This month, I

am encouraging everyone to

make this newsletter truly

Division 21’s newsletter by

contributing stories and pictures

form your events and project.

Show us what your club as done

and ask for support from your

fellow hive-mates. Showcase

your work in the community and

spread your ideas! All you have

to do is email me!

Also remember to attend

DCMs! DCMs are a great way to

find out more about Key Club,

get to know others, and increase

your passion for service. Not to

mention the free food! Please

take a look at the DCM page for

this month since we have a big

and very impactful project this

month!

I hope you have an amazing

year and stay KEYnected!

DIvision 21’s goals this year are to have all 13 clubs in their area have active status,

expand membership in the division, fundraise and increase awareness of Key Club

International and the Pacific Northwest District’s goals and projects, and have extensive

communication between all clubs regardless of distance.

However, our biggest goals are those stated by Key Club International:

To provide service, build character, and develop leadership.

Your school’s club!

A Word from the Board

Hi, Key Clubbers! How do you feel?! :) I hope that your first quarter

of school went fantastically. I also hope that you guys are done

with International member registration! Now, it’s time to get your

members active! Officers should check the International deadline

for the required hours and notify them to the members, so they

can feel more responsible and keep track of their hours. Also, there

should be an active and effective communication between the

officers and the members: it’s crucial for keeping the whole club

active! Facebook page or Remind101 would be helpful. Treasurers,

come up with some fundraising events for your club to do! Bulletin

Editors, get your members involved in your monthly newsletters!

Secretaries, send notes to inactive members and keep track of all

the club events and activities! Presidents and Vice Presidents,

come up with a way to make your club meetings more interesting!

There should be tons of ways to get your clubs more intriguing. I

hope that your club is active and your officers are cooperating

well. If you need any help or have any questions, please don’t

hesitate to contact us Divisional officers or other Key Clubbers! BEE

ACTIVE! :)

Hey Key Clubbers! I hope everyone is having as much fun as I am

in Key Club! It has been a pleasure getting to know the members

in my club and in the division better through working on various

service projects together last month! I am so excited for the

November DCM this month! I strongly encourage everyone to go

to this DCM! The November DCM was the first DCM I went to as a

sophomore last year and it really left a deep impression on me.

The November DCM was what changed my initial perspective

on Key Club. Since then, I always attend DCMs because they’re

so much fun! The people you meet and the projects you do

together create such a positive and warm atmosphere that

can’t be completely described in one sentence. It’s the

exchanging of ideas, the crazy games and the service projects

we do that bonds us together like a family. This is what happens

at DCMs naturally. If you’re the shy type and you’re hesitant of

going to an event where you may not know all the people at,

don’t worry! People in the division will talk to you if you’re too

scared to approach them first! Key Clubbers are either really

weird, really friendly or both! That’s the beauty of Key Club. It’s a

club where you can completely be yourself in and not feel like

you’re ever judged for who you are. Caring is our way of life. We

care about you.

Hello there, bees! I hope you’re enjoying the chilly weather,

because it’s only to get even worse! Let’s hope for snow this

year… Anyways, I would like to remind you guys sittin’ in yer

chairs right yonder that the November DCM is coming up

fast! As well, we’re now accepting stories of your life in the

KC, in addition to any pictures that you may have!

Remember to bundle up for the upcoming chilly days, or

else you might get the flu and turn (Walking Dead

reference). Remember to hug that person next to you tight,

even if it’s a complete stranger, and enjoy the rest of

autumn!

- With Thanksgiving around the corner, this

month is all about giving and being

thankful. Contribute back to your

community by working at a food bank!

There are food banks all around the area

that would love to get more volunteers.

- Hosting a food drive is also a great service

project for this time of year! Food drives

are simply and extremely rewarding. There

are many different groups and

organizations doing food drives now, so

book yours fast!

Presidents Presidents need to fill out this survey by

the 5th of every month to provide a

The Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program, KCCP, in support of Kiwanis Doernbecher Children’s

Cancer Program in Portland OR., Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program in Seattle WA., and the

Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program in British Columbia and the Yukon, will raise money and

awareness to fight and find the cure for children’s cancer.

The KCCP was founded by Past PNW Kiwanis Governor Frank Morehouse in 2010. His inspiration

was a young cancer patient named Penny. Morehouse worked at the hospital where Penny

stayed. Penny was diagnosed with a brain tumor and required surgery and radiation therapy.

Penny visited Morehouse during her hospital stays and talked about what was happening to her.

Sadly, Penny eventually lost her battle with cancer.

The KCCP is a long term project that will hopefully expand to a global program. Children’s

cancer affects many families. Thousands of children are diagnosed with cancer each year, and

with the help of research, their chances of surviving have more than tripled. KCCP hopes to be

a part of finding a cure.

It’s that time of the year again! It feels like I just started my term just a month ago. But,

once again, it’s time for Lieutenant Governor Elections! The

information above is extremely tentative. If you are

interested in the position, please attend the November

DCM since we will have a little meeting to go over more

information about what the position entitles. Anybody can

run! However, there can only be one candidate per club! If

you are interested in running, please let me know so I can

make sure to schedule it for when it will work best for

everyone!

Lieutenant Governor Elections already?! Yup! And that also means that elections for next year’s

club officers isn’t far away! That also means that we’re that

much closer to DCON 2014!
