his is our last proudction in this course, we gotta find a topic that we’ve interest to talk, also we can handle it. We chose to probe the

topic of the”Single-Parent Family”, its not be-cause we’ve been through this kind of experi-ence. Contrarily we have a “real family”, so we wanna remind all the audience, take your time, stay close to your familiar and show your love to the one you love. This is what we want to do. We preapre this project in the very first begin-ning in Yrs 3, from story-telling to casting, we hope everthing can be perfect, we pay all our intentions on it. There’re not doubt that we put a lot of time in the script, we want to make sure every scene can connet tight. In addition, we put most of the effort to deliberate the meth-od of story-telling. We all know its not easy to transform the words of script into a motion pic-ture, so we put a lot of times in preparation.

Ceci grow up in a single-parent family, her boyfriend

broke up with her when he had known Ceci was pregnant

. She just follow her mother’s path to ruin, but even more

terrible.The story all begin in Ceci mother gone. Ceci left his

son behind in home alone because the accident had hap-

pened. She lost her most intimate people in a day, its really

heartbreaking to her. Papa has sent to Po Leung Kuk be-

cause of the neglect. Ceci wanna take him back to the home

stealthily.

Ceci is a 21 years old lady, she dropped out the school

since she found out she was pregnant, she and her mother

were at war since all this drama happened. Ceci didn’t pay

too much attention to take care PaPa. She just wanna fullfill

her duty, she doesn’t love her child too much because PaPa

make her cast back her ex-boyfriend, but since she lost her

son in Mong Kok while she was working, she know her son

is very percious to her, Papa is the motivation for “Life Goes

On”.

As a 5 years old kid, it suppose to be living in a in-nocent and happy lifetime ever, but it’s never come easy if you grow up in a single-parent family. The photo below is captured in scene which talk about Papa was asking why he has never seen his father while Ceci try to fell asleep. This really made her feel frustrated , but this is the first time that Papa

asked about it, Ceci did not ready to explain to her own son. The confusion caused her to make a bad decision, she slapped Papa across the face. In the meanwhile, Ceci mother came back. Warfare like the only way they can communicate. The tears on this lovely kids really triggered off the quarrel again.

Choice,not chance determines human destiny,Ceci chose to take her son back stealthily, this thought was flash out in a moment while she was packing up all the toy for Papa play in Po Leung Kuk, one little thing

bring out all the memories in her mind.When Ceci toke Papa aways, she have nowhere to go actually, because when they went back to their house , Po Leung Kuk’s staff had been there already. They have nowhere to go, Ceci chose to call the social worker for help.Luckly, The social

worker(Dickson) would willing to take them in the house for a while. During the time they stay in the Dickson house, Papa find a dickson was the clown who met at Mong Kok, That’s the reason that why

Dickson would willing to pay more attention in this case.

ickson, is the social-worker that handle the case of Ceci fam-ily, he got a smil-

iar background to Papa that he was sent into Po LeungKuk while he was kid. The first time he met Papa and Ceci wasn’t in the meeting room of Social Welfare Depart-ment, it was in Mong Kok that Dickson was doing his part-time job which is being a clown in the street. This is the reason why he keep his eyes on this family, he play a key role in this movie

her to be a mother, she is not ready to nuture her children,even she couldn’t

take care herself, but she really did her best to be a mother. She

know that Papa is the most precious people in her life ,though Papa sometimes call forth her sorrow remi-niscence. Ceci have lost her most important person in one day, this is really blow-ing her mind, she is like losing her way. She make a crucial decision af-ter all the drama have happened, the decision really change her life

apa is a 5 years old kid, he still feel strange

to this world, he has an inquisitive mind. he live with his mom all the time, he have ever seen his father. He loves being with his mother. When he knows he have to leave his mom, he feels aston-ished, he didm’t know how to response, he was always think-ing like is it his own fault, so he don’t talk too much after he was sent to the Po Leung Kuk.

Post Production re-ally help us to fix the thing we mess up and create something which we can’t create throgh the carmea, We will reveal what we did in “Post”.

We mostly learnt Visual Effect in this 3yrs, we have learnt a lot of software that we can make use of different produci-ton, This time; this producion, because of the genure of our movie, we don’t need too much effect to entertain your vision, but we still have plenty of works to do in post-production, such as Footage stabilization, Color-grading, rotoscroping and compositing etc... That kind of work need really nice tracking, especially rotoscroping, because we have to follow the mo-tion of the object that we wanna rotoscrope. If we use after-effect to do that kind to job must gotta waste a lot of time, so we use more advanced tracking software, which is called mocha pro. It’s a 2.5D htracking software, the biggest different bewteen After Effects and Mo-cha Pro is what Mocha pro using is planar track,

planar tracker is looking for a area that we tell the mocha that we’re looking at all the pixels moving rela-tive to one and other with the “blind”, and tracking a texture.That’s mean we can’t track nasty and blury t h i n g s .

however After Effects is using point track. If we wanna track something move fast, or the shot is very shaky. After Effects must fail in this. There are some peo-ple think planar tracker and point tracker are similar, but they are not at all. A point tracker is looking at a certain small piece of data,

here are several shot that we have done in af-

ter effects, and plenty of shot that we have to stablize because of the limitation of our equip- ment, there are many shot that we can’ t use the tri-pod leg. First shot we have to compositein after effects is When Ceci got back to her home, she saw there’re nobody there but toys. We want to visualize what she think, so we want that shot can be like Papa was setting in the house, then disappear gradually, so we have to rotoscrope Papa out to the shot, then dissolve it, we have to check the Papa’s motion in mocha the then we get the matte plane of him. Lastly, we hcomposite in

after effects. There is another shot that we composite in after effects, it’ s the last shot of the story. The Scene is talking about Papa has grown into a teenage and we have to revealto the audience that the man in the screen is “The Little Child”, so when Ceci and Papa step on the floor that full of wa-ter, the reflection in the “pool” will show it. Wehavetofilmtwo different, one of it is film Ceci and”little Papa” walking, an-other oneis Ceci walking with Papa that grown up, then composite it. The most challeng-ing thing is these two shot are quite shaky, its hard to match the carmera motion and composite it.
