She was born on April 19, 1936, in Breckinridge County, the daughter of the late Clarence and Pauline (Harris) Sturgeon and was the step daughter of the late Richard De- Jarnette, Sr. Anna married Donald L. Frisse on September 11, 1954, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwards- ville and he survives. She was a mem- ber of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Anna was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for many years. Anna is preceded in death by one daughter, Doris M. Best, one brother and six sisters. She is also survived by four sons, Donald J. Frisse and wife Jody of Fenton, Missour; Dan A. Frisse and Dennis E. Frisse both of Ed- wardsville; and Darrell W. Frisse of Collinsville; one daughter Di- ann L. Frisse-Jurgena and husband Michael of Edwardsville; four grandchildren, Christopher D. Kelley; Danielle M. Frisse, Renee R. Frisse, and Justin W. Frisse; one great-grandchild Brandon Z. Kelley; four sisters, Barbara Bickell and husband Earl of Lewis- port; Stella Crank of Eldorado, Illinois; Edith Tucker of Jerseyville, Illinois; and Lou Jean Basham and husband Jack of Cannelton, In- diana; one brother Billy DeJarnette-Gaither of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass was held Monday, January 30 at St. Boniface with Father Jeff Goeckner officiating. Interment was at St. Boniface Cemetery in Edwardsville. Pauline Duke Jarboe 1921-2012 Pauline Duke Jarboe, age 90 of Har- dinsburg, passed away Saturday, Janu- ary 21 at the residence of her daugh- ter in Stephensport. She was born in Breckinridge County on September 4, 1921, the daughter of the late Garland and Sarah Nancy Davis Duke. She was a member of St. Romuald Catho- lic Church, a homemaker who enjoyed walking the countryside, yard sales, raising chickens, cooking for her fam- ily and spending time with her grand- children. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Alonzo Jarboe and three daughters, Mary Eliza Jarboe, Anna Leigh Aldridge and Alma Louise Pate. She is survived by five children, Alonzo "Buck" Jarboe, Jr. (Dor- othy) of Hardinsburg; Joe Jarboe of Hardinsburg; Katie Collard (Larry) of Hardinsburg; Helen McNichol (Eric) of Florida; Ellfie Jane McHolan (Henry) of Stephensport; a brother Junior Duke of Indiana; two sisters Ruby Taul of Cloverport; and Cora Kelly of Indiana; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 24 at St. Romuald Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Bickett officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home. Delma Ann Harper Smith 1921-2012 Delma Ann Harper Smith, age 90 of Hardinsburg, passed away Friday, January 27 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, IN. She was born in Glen Dean, on November 29, 1921, the daughter of the late Robert Beck- ham and Lillie Mae Fuller Harper. Del- ma retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1980 after 33 years of service and from Kentucky State Government in 1990. She was the Post Master at Gar- field Post Office for 20 years. She was a member of Garfield Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, card games, especially solitaire, and board games, preferably Yahtzee with her granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her half brother and sister Walter Harper and Wilma Procter. Delma is survived by two daughters Ann S. Macy (Lowell); and Bobbie C. He was an avid U of L fan, enjoyed pheas- ant hunting and travelling to his home away from home in Winner, South Da- kota. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas and his sister Mary. Brother Gary Stevenson Brother Gary Stevenson, pastor of Emmanuel Fellowship Church in Harned, went to be with the Lord on Sun- day, January 29. He pastored Emmanuel Fellowship Church for 27 years and was a retired school bus driver from Breckin- ridge County Public School system. He was also a member of the Breckinridge Christian Men's Fellowship. He was preceded in death by his par- ents Ed and Verda Stevenson; siblings: Buck and Danny Stevenson, Bernice Embry, Betty Whitfill, Mary Ruth Deck- er and Yvonne Jarboe. He was also preceded in death by members of Wanda's family: Ronald, Eula and Terry Sosh. Katherine Burden Skaggs 1931-2012 Katherine Burden Skaggs was born in Hardinsburg in 1931 to Her- chel Burden and Evelyn (Smoth- ers) Slaughter. In 1966 she moved to Trussville AL with her family where she raised her children for 22 years and was a well known cheerleader of all sporting events her children par- ticipated in. Her job as a cashier at two different Trussville drug stores gave her the opportunity to meet and become friends with many people. She never met a stranger. Our Meme was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ever have. She gave all her love and care to her family. She will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Eu- gene Burden, her sisters Nancy Simmons and Thelma Whitworth. Anna Ruth Frisse1936-2012Anna Ruth Frisse, age 75 of Edwards-

ville, Illinois, passed away at 8:51 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on April 19, 1936, in Breckinridge County, the daughter of the late Clarence and Pauline (Harris) Sturgeon and was the step daughter of the late Richard De-Jarnette, Sr. Anna married Donald L. Frisse on September 11, 1954, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwards-ville and he survives. She was a mem-ber of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Anna was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for many years.Anna is preceded in death by one daughter, Doris M. Best, one

Katherine Burden Skaggs1931-2012

Katherine Burden Skaggs was born in Hardinsburg in 1931 to Her-chel Burden and Evelyn (Smoth-ers) Slaughter. In 1966 she moved to Trussville AL with her family where she raised her children for 22 years and was a well known cheerleader of all sporting events her children par-ticipated in. Her job as a cashier at two different Trussville drug stores gave her the opportunity to meet and become friends with many people. She never met a stranger. Our Meme was

the best mother and grandmother anyone could ever have. She gave all her love and care to her family. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Eu-gene Burden, her sisters Nancy Simmons and Thelma Whitworth.

Katherine is survived by her husband Charles Stanley Skaggs, Sr. to whom she was married for fi fty-fi ve years; her sisters and brothers: Ann Laura Blythe; Donnie Slaughter; Vandlyn Lucas; Chistine Coomes; Herschel Burden; Ida Creek; Pearl Newton; and Angela Glasscock; her children: David Dunn; Brenda Dunn; Bobby Horsley; Tommy Horsley; Charles Stanley Skaggs, Jr; and Susan Skaggs Jones; her grandchildren: David Dunn, Jr.; Bridg-et Davidson; Breanna Decker; Brian Horsley; Bethany Extine; Kelly Brooks; Jana Bice; Trey Skaggs; Brittney Bruno; Brandy Bruno; Jessica Cummo; and Whitney Jones; her great-grandchil-dren: Justin Davidson; Kaylee Davidson; Preslee Decker; Carson Decker; Rex Extine; Christoper Dunn; Barrett Bice; Cody Bice; Courtney Bice; and Charles Robertson Skaggs; and her great- great-grandson Brayden Davidson.

Services were held at Trussville Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Monday January 23, in the Chapel.

Delilah Sue Mercer1952-2012

Delilah Sue Mercer, age 58 of Cloverport, passed away Wednesday, January 25 at her residence. She was born in Breck-inridge County, on May 30, 1952, the daughter of the late Delmar Lee and Mary Elizabeth Mingus.

She was preceded in death by her sister Anna Wiesemann and her brother Larry Mingus.

There will be no visitation or services.Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
