This event is for individuals of any age who have a special needs and their families. It is hard to predict how anyone will behave in an emergency situation. Because of this, Fire and Safety Day is an excellent opportunity to meet face to face with emergency personnel, explore and learn about firetrucks, firefighter gear, ambulances, seat belt safety, first aid, poison control, 911, and more that could one day keep us safe in an emergency situation.

Bring the whole family for an afternoon jam-packed full of activities designed to provide your family with fire safety education, as well as, summer fun. See the rescue helicopter land and watch the firefighters put out a live fire! The fire training facility is a state of the art facility with room to accommodate everyone. Bring swimsuits and sunscreen for the kids so they can enjoy playing in large water sprinklers at the end of the day.

Online Curriculum for this program can cost $300-1,200 and it won’t be personalized or have the value of peer discussions on topics such as: who you can touch and how, who you can trust and why, and who you can talk to and what you can say.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT!

Tony

Tony has a contagious personality. He has the ability to make everyone around him feel welcome and appreciated. Tony has worked for Hy-Vee on 179th and Pacific for over 5 years as their evening dishwasher. His co-workers always have kind things to say about Tony and smiles on their faces when they come back to visit. When asked what Tony loves most about his job he said, “The thing I like most about my job are the people I work with. They are friendly, funny, and helpful. If I have trash to take out and am busy, they will help me. I also like working by the food, sometimes I get free samples.” Thank you, Tony, for your dedication and teamwork!
