ABOUT DR. LEE J. JONESDr. Lee Jones currently serves as Professor in The Department of Educational Foundations at The University of Wisconsin at Whitewater and Executive Director for the JALDI Leadership Institute. Most recently he served as the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies at The University of Wiscon-sin at Whitewater. He is a member of the Provost Administrative Team and manages a 3.2 million dollar operating budget. Dr. Jones is responsible for providing leadership for many departments with-in the Provost Office including, The School of Graduate School, The offices of Continuing Educa-tion, Faculty Development, Distance Education, Sponsored Research and Programs, Information and Technology; Summer Sessions, Credit Outreach, World Affairs, etc. In addition to all his academic and administrative responsibilities, Dr. Jones finds the time to produce and host Your Voice T.V. Talk Show and has recently taped his 250th show, which aired throughout the state of Florida.
Dr. Jones is the founder and recent past president of Brothers of The Academy (BOTA). He now serves as president emeritus of BOTA <www.brothersoftheacademy.org>. Under Dr. Jones’ leadership BOTA developed a strong organizational structure through which BOTA has developed a National Think Tank, a scholarly academic refereed journal (Journal of The Professoriate), a National Center for African American Research and Policy; developed a first class web design, a major BOTA News-letter (BOTA News); secured over $350,000 in grants and resources for BOTA’s operations; present-ed the BOTA model at over 50 national and international conferences; instituted a very active and visible Council of Elders. He also serves as Executive Producer of a national BOTA Documentary, which has been used at over 100 conferences, universities, K-12 schools; and a host of other organi-zations, etc. Dr. Jones takes his role as a professor very seriously and creatively engages his students in classroom lectures and discussions. He has been nominated several times for the outstanding teaching award at Florida State University.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Delaware State University, in Drama, Speech, Communica-tion, and Theater. While at DSU he was elected President of the student body. He has a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration, a Master of Arts degree in Business and Admin-istration, and a Ph.D D. in Organizational Development from The Ohio State University. Dr. Jones completed his high school education from Barringer High School in Newark, New Jersey, which is the third oldest high school in the country.
He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. a member of the Board of Trustees at Keystone College, a permanent member of the Columbus, Ohio Simba Program (mentoring), National Asso-ciation for Equal Opportunity (NAFEO), American Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), American Association of Higher Education (AAHE), Academy of Human Resource De-velopment (AHRD), Association for Quality Control (ASQC), the American Educational Research Association (AERA), and a host of other civic and professional organizations. He is also Founder and CEO of VIP Inc. (Voices in Progress). VIP, Inc. <www.aboutdrleejones.org> is a soul searching educational and inspirational consulting practice.
Known as a prolific orator, Dr. Jones has been in great demand and has been requested to speak at high schools, universities, school districts, churches, and civic groups across the country. He has also been invited to speak in England, Canada, Rome, and Puerto Rico. His speeches have received rave reviews and he is consistently requested to appear for repeat visits at numerous engagements. His presentations are known to be high energy, substantive, and highly interactive. His oratorical skills combined with his knowledge, enthusiasm, and energy always leaves his audiences wanting more. He has appeared as a guest on several nationally syndicated radio shows including the Bev. Smith Show.
He has completed four edited books and one singled authored book: His motto is The Bottom Line is Results, Anything Else is Rhetoric.
