The Anglo-Saxon Period was filled with constant fighting between different tribes Many tribes left their

homelands due to the fighting

Political, economic & cultural consequences

Anglo-Saxon civilization established on island of Britain – 3 main tribes

Before the Germanic tribes arrived there were already tribes in Britain, including the Britons

Roman armies conquered the Britons Romans introduced

cities, stone roads, written scholarship, and Christianity.

Britain invaded by Germanic peoples Arthurian Legends arose trying to

combat the invasion Germanic tribes organized themselves

Anglo-Saxon culture changed over time Went from seafarers who practiced
